Two Factor Authentication
The main objective of this project is to provide Two Factor authentication (TFA) for online banking using a device known as DIGIPASS manufactured by the authentication company named as VASCO.
A DIGIPASS is a handheld hardware or software device that calculates dynamic one time password for positive authentication of a user on a system. It is also able to calculate digital signature also known as electronic signature or message authentication code to protect electronic transaction and guarantee the integrity of the content of the transaction.
Two factor authentications provide additional security for banking .using TFA technology, a TFA code is generated in the server while installing TFA software. The same code is present in the DIGIPASS tool box which is present in the server. During transaction, normally user will enter login and password. But there is a chance to know our password to invaders, which result in lack of security. With the use of TFA, the transaction can be made only after entering the TFA code, which can be viewed in user DIGIPASS tool box along with login and password. The server verifies whether the TFA code entered and the TFA code generated by the server is same. If code mismatched the server terminates the login process.
