• Registered nurse at Hialeah Hospital on the Medical-Surgical unit for 1 year.
• My duties as a staff nurse were to care for patients with various issues. I did comprehensive assessment, admissions and discharges to and from the hospital, medications administration and teaching. I administered IV fluids, blood transfusion and related product. I monitored vital signs including blood sugar, and I cared for pre and post surgical patients like knees, hips replacement and amputation. I cared for stroke patients, administered anticoagulants, communicated with Doctors and other healthcare providers as needed. I did manual effective documentations, formulated care plans and follow ups and so on.
• Registered Nurse at the University of Miami Hospital On the step down Cardiac and post-open heart unit for more than a year where I provided care for patients with cardiac problems like arrhythmias, Angina, pre and post pacemaker insertion, pre and post open heart surgery, pre and post cardiac catheterization, I started IV lines, drew blood, inserted Foley catheter, NG tubes, I cared for patients with chest tubes. I did wound cares including wound vac. I also care for patients with altered mental status like bipolar, schizophrenia etc.
• Registered Nurse home health at Catholic Hospice for about 2 years to now. My duties are to provide palliative care for the patients with terminally ill diseases. Provide comfort measures, support for patient and family. I also teach various subjects according to patient needs and concerns. I contact primary care providers on a daily basis. I start subcutaneous lines for continuous fluid or pain meds administration. I do discharge planning and discharge from hospital to home or to other facilities and from home to hospital, order equipment like beds, oxygen, nebulizer, medications, supplies and evaluate patient and family needs to provide more support like HHA service, volunteers. I ordered continuous care as needed. I care for Alzheimer, oncology patients, HIV patients and etc.
• I currently work per diem at Saint Catherine Rehab Hospital where I practice all the skills of medical surgical care.
• I have been working per for Med Assurant for 5 about months as a nurse field reviewer specialist. I do claim integrity and High level reviews. My duty is to review charts for many insurance companies like United Healthcare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and so on at doctor’s offices, hospitals, DME companies etc. I also do remote reviews. Nurse Auditor for Medicare and Medicaid.
• I mostly do computerized documentations, so I am familiar with most electronic documentation programs.
• I have Computer skills in Microsoft word, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel. I speak English, French, Creole and I have Spanish skills.
• In the Hospital settings where I worked, I floated to other units like ER, ICU, NICU, CICU, PICU, Isolation, Pain management units and so on.
