Duties involve full Supervision of Accounting Clerical staff (6-12 employees), as well as completing daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting and reconciliation.
• From 2002 to March 2005, supervised Deposit Control and Posting units
• Deposit Control unit was responsible for processing daily Child Support collections totaling $60 million annually
• Posting Unit was responsible for Allocation and Distribution of 800-1000 Child Support Payments daily
• Maintained and balanced Department Revolving Fund used for assorted day to day expenses
• Supervision of staff responsible for multiple cash payment windows including receipting of payments and maintaining balanced cash drawers.
• March 2005, reassigned to Child Support Account Adjustment Unit
• Adjustment unit is responsible for working Account adjustment instruction created by Family Support Officers
09/1995-02/2002 – Kern County Mental Health Department
Position Held: Account Clerk II, promoted to Account Clerk III in 1999
Wide range of duties including Patient Billing, Accounts Payable, Collection Analysis and Grant Program Monitoring.
• Started with KCMH as Patient Billing clerk after transferring from Kern Medical Center
• Beginning in 1997: Worked Accounts Payable, processing large volumes of travel claims, mileage claims and contract payments for department with over 300 employees and multiple service locations.
• When promoted to Account Clerk III in 1999, worked short term special project doing bad debt and collection analysis for the Patient Billing Department. Drafted department procedure for Board of Supervisor’s to write off of uncollectible bad debt which had not previously been done by the department.
• Beginning in 2000: Monitored and tracked Grant funding for multiple department programs. Developed extensive spreadsheet system for monitoring, tracking and reporting grant funding. KC Mental Health operated at the time with over 30 individual Federal, State and Local grants varying from $10,000 to over $6 million dollars annually. Total grant funding was over $30 million per year.
• Assisted in verifying Payroll, and was a backup for department Payroll processing
• Regularly assisted Accountant III with special projects and priority assignments.
• After leaving KC Mental Health, my prior Account Clerk III position was reclassed as a Fiscal Support Specialist due to its function being identified as Special Project/Lead work.
