closely with clients to create vision and conceive designs while consistently meeting very tight deadlines. Effectively
motivated and directed production artists. Created and conducted highly persuasive sales and marketing presentations.
Performed Personnel Evaluations. Worked with Customer Service to develop systems for keeping track of art
requests and customers’ orders.
Key Achievements:
- Increased gross sales from $600,000.00 to $2,000,000.00 in 4.5 years.

Telecommuted as a full time employee with the company in Miami, FL. from my home studio in Sanford, FL. Designed and constructed a 40’ exhibit booth for trade shows. Supported custom art needs of approx. 40 sales reps in their territories as well as trade shows. Focus was on children’s graphics for the souvenir, theme park and resort apparel market.
Kid-u-not, Sanford, FL, 06/1996 - 02/1998 Art Director, Senior Graphic Designer
No. 1 supplier or children’s t-shirt, sweatshirts, dresses, and short sets to the souvenir/resort/theme parks market along
with U.S. National Parks, Las Vegas Hotel & Casinos and U.S. airport gift shops. Worked with cut & sew
manufacturers on design of graphics to apparel. Staying informed of future trends and color schemes kept us ahead of our
competition and on top. I created catalogs, brochures, and other marketing materials developed as needed.
Key Achievements:
- Co-designed new 25,000 sq ft factory/office complex determining the workflow direction through the plant and art dept..
- Designed and managed construction of large children’s themed showroom at the Denver Mart.
- Conceived and assembled sale’s associates’ binders consisting of designs, garment info, all policies regarding orders, graphics and price lists.
-Developed and managed the production of a mailing container and PoP floor display for children’s tees. Working with the USPS,
Packaging and PoP manufacturers, the project was completed under budget and on time.
-Conceived and created a post card marketing program informing our customers of the upcoming tradeshow schedule.
One side contained a photo of children modeling new imprinted garments, and on the reverse, company and mailing information.
This involved selecting the photographer, child models and scouting outdoor areas to hold the shoot. Coordinated it all so that the finished
material met the goals set forth.
L.A.T. Sportswear, Ballground, GA, 01/1990 – 06/1996, Art Director,
Graphic Designer and Screen Print Production Manager
Manufactured and printed “Rabbit Skins”, the No. 1 children’s wholesale apparel supplier to the screen printing/embroidery industry. Hired initially to upgrade and manage the graphics and screen print depts.. Responsible for all hiring and training of art and print staff. Supported some 30 sales reps with custom graphics, printed samples and marketing literature. Teamed with Merchandise Director for designing garment samples and graphics for seasonal programs. Participated in, and supported an annual fashion show” of new items with various graphics and garment ideas. Parent company made a decision, after going “Public”, to close down the screen printing division in August 1996 after the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics, even though sales grew from $1 million in 1990 to $3.5 million in 1995.
Key Achievements:
- Created designs for and managed junior designers’ efforts in an annual $1.5 million Collegiate
Licensed Juvenile Apparel Program for Wal Mart.
- Managed the L.A.T printed division into one of the driving forces in the printed souvenir industry
within 2 years of employment.
- Conceived and developed several upscale apparel programs for the 1996 Atlanta Summer
Olympics, including a freelanced line of my own.
- Teamed up with “Cabbage Patch “ dolls creator Xavier Roberts to produce an Olympic Line
of “Cabbage Patch” tees for the children’s market.
- Sourced out and supervised the off-site contract printing of Licensed Olympic apparel meeting
all deadlines while maintaining the highest level of quality possible.
- Created and managed a Children’s Souvenir Apparel Program for “The World of Coke” at Underground Atlanta
