EMPLOYMENT

11/09-present date, Thomson Plastics Incorporated, Thomson, GA

Technical Manager- Chris Williams 706-***-****)

Lead Mold Setter

Run parts for Husqvarna, Trane, and Club Car.

I process and set-up presses ranging from 60-3000 ton Toshiba, Kawaguchi, Cincinnati, Demag, and Milacron.

I operate Milacron and Wittmann robotic controls as well as teach them and step them through processes.

On a day to day basis I perform set-ups on molds ranging from 60-30,000 pounds. Some set-ups require gas assist ( cinpress units) as well as external hydraulic pumps. Some set-ups were for stack molds.

I am required to check all functions on the molds and functions on the press before releasing it to production.

At times, I process machines and assist maintenance in troubleshooting.

It is my responsibility to repair set-up problems caused by less experienced mold setters and follow up on their work before releasing it to production.

It is my responsibility to report any damage to tooling or presses to the manufacturing manager or tooling department.

6/06 – 5/09, Meteor Sealing Systems, Dover, OH

ENG manager -Travis Howell 330-***-****)

(Layoff due to business slowdown; $16 hr.)

Process technician

Company produced automotive injection molded parts.

I processed 250-1000 ton LWB vertical presses as well as an 800 ton Engel with rotating platen and two injection barrels

I had to reset the two ABB units and monitor there scrap

we were mostly a rubber molding outfit all but the Engel it ran both ppe and tpe materials.

On a day to day basis I would process new incoming mold as well as trouble shoot existing production molds. On my shift I was responsible for all mold changes. Molds ranging from 350 lbs to 6000 lbs. I was all so the main tooling expert for the molding department. It was my job to retool, repair and add any necessary changes to new and production mold.

Kan Ban, ISO, QS9000, 5S, SPC, lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, six sigma all of these were a large influence in all aspects of our processes.

Create and maintain parameter changes as needed

Design parts for molds to improve process and product flow.

Most of the presses were 750 tons varying from natco, Cincinnati’s, and van dorn. There were some 500 ton and two 850 ton van dorns.

Our most used materials were ppe and crystal styrene. On occasion we would run poly ethylene, poly carbonate, some glass filled.

On a day to day basis I was responsible for scheduling temporary employees for 17 molding machines. I had to set mold as needed and make sure the appearance of the shop was kept up. It was my mission to reduce the scrap rate and reduce oil usage to a n expectable level.

This company was an old school producer with vary little new world training. To this I brought 5 S, Six sigma and some lean flow procedures that helped save large amount of money.

Kept up maintenance on all equipment and process injection molding presses.

Reduced oil usage and created time saving ideas.

Kept 100 percent lean flow production for my shift.
