INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

An inplant internship in the organisation to understand about the working of the organisation and their production process.

Duration: 8 weeks

This internship was proposed with two main objectives i.e. to develop understanding of the structural and functional constituents of fashion and textile industry and to learn to adapt to real industry situations through practical projects assigned by the industry. The project included:-

Development of Digital prints for the brand ‘LINDEN STREET’

Development of T-shirt crest design for the brand ‘ARIZONA’

Company: Bombay Dyeing, Mumbai

Duration: 18 weeks

The graduation project was to demonstrate the application of various academics inputs and its adaptation in real life industry situation. The project included development of design collection i.e. bed collections for Bombay dyeing for mass production.

ACADEMIC

PROJECT Craft Cluster Initiative and Documentation:

A detailed study of the Bandhej the tie and dye craft of Jaipur .It included interaction with the artisans and documentation of the craft and our experience there. Line of Products was also designed which reflected our understanding of the craft and the mindset of the artisans practising this craft.

Print Design:

The designs were created based on the inspirations taken according to the selected theme. A range of prints developed for a line of collection for various products such as swimwear, home collection, gift wraps, apparel collection.

CAD:

Developed digital prints based on the theme ‘Digicraft’ for various products, developed designs for carpets using Nedgraphics and Texcelle.

Surface Techniques:

Explored various resist dyed techniques and developed a product using various these techniques. Explorations on fabric manipulation and developed a product.

Woven Design Project:

Exploration done on various kinds of weaves and development of product – ‘a rug’ using knotting and tapestry techniques.

Advance Design Project:

Exploration with different fabric and techniques, developed an assorted collection for home furnishing products based on a theme ‘Traveller’s Tale’.
