JACOBS-ZATE (Oct. 2008 – till date):

• Recently, I am working as Lead Engineer for FEED and Detailed Engineering Project about designing the sales gas metering system for Saudi Aramco. In this project, development of PFD, P&IDs, utility diagrams, line sizing, metering specification and selection of metering system.During this project, Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) and HAZOP session will be conducted.

I have worked as Lead Engineer for preparing data sheet of Bayonet vaporizer used for vaporizing mix C1-C4 feed which is feed for hydrogen production and fuel for furnace. I have also provided heat curve to vendor for its sizing. In this project, I have also checked the functionality of the existing PZVs.

In this project, I have also made spreadsheet for sizing of PZV for supercritical fluids. After getting vendor’s input for sizing of new vaporizer and rating of an existing vaporizer, concluded the results and presented to client,Petro-Rabigh Refinery, in a report format.

I have worked as Lead Engineer on FEED of pipeline sizing for sea water from sea water intake to sea water pumping station and then to desalination plant at King Abdullah university of science and technology, Saudi Arabia. This project is jointly done with ARUP, UK.

Worked as Assistant Lead Engineer for detailed engineering of cross country pipelines (RTDB-2 & DR-2). The lengths of these pipelines are 106 km & 400 km and transferring Diesel and kerosene from eastern region to central region. In this project, I have reviewed the steady state and transient hydraulic analysis report and implemented the outcome of the analysis.

Worked as lead Engineer on FEED of RasTanura integrated project (RTIP), a joint venture of DOW and Saudi Aramco world’s largest petrochemical complex. In this project, I have done hydraulic analysis of two pipelines on stoner pipeline simulator software (SPS v9.7) and calculated the optimum size and MAOP of the pipeline.

Worked as the Lead Engineer for the process design of Coalescer for removal of water from butane feed at ibn-sina facility at SABIC. In this project, I have reviewed the vendor’s calculations and provide answers to all his queries.

Development of P&IDs for epoxy resin storage tank and its control philosophy for RTIP.

Good knowledge of DOW and Saudi Aramco standards.

Line sizing based on steady state and unsteady hydraulic analysis.

Designed a heat exchanger using liquid nitrogen as cooling medium for SAUDI ARAMCO facility. For this project, development of P&ID, Data sheet, Process Design is done.

Designed Butene-1 storage sphere of capacity 4000 m3 for Petro Rabigh Refinery. Also prepare its P&ID and fire water system. Sizing of PZVs as per API-521, API-526 and API-527.

Developed the P&ID for water injection system for three water injection wells to increase the oil production capacity. Prepared the data sheets for its API centrifugal pumps.

Prepared and developed the demolition as well as new P&IDs for water tube boiler having capacity 65 MT/hr for Petro-Rabigh refinery.

Prepared the operating manual for Khurais pipelines for NGL, Sour Gas for SAUDI ARAMCO.

AZIZ consulting company (1998-2008)

Performed basic and detailed engineering for the existing/new facilities during engineering design phases.

Developed /reviewed, PFDs/P&IDs during refinery modification/ revamp/expansion projects.

Carried out line sizing and hydraulics, equipment sizing, developed LDTs, process equipments data sheets, plant utility summary, cause and effect diagrams.

Prepared proposals of modification and improvements for plant efficiency & process safety.

Performed process calculations of heat exchangers, coolers, pumps, furnace, boilers, cooling tower, material balance and heat balance on an ongoing basis.

Periodically performed process test runs of different process units to check the performance, reviewed operating data, analyzed variances and implemented corrective actions.

Provided engineering / technical support to plant operations along with strategic initiatives for process optimization and loss management techniques to improve plant economics.

Conducted energy conservation studies /practices to improve plant economics.

Handling of operation of steam ejector system and its trouble shooting.

Handling of rotating equipment (Gear pumps .centrifugal pumps, Rotary blower .Rotary valve)
