October 2007 - Present Scientist Metabolic diseases
• Analyzed metabolic consequences in lipid droplet protein deficient animals
• Established new perilipin transgenic strain
• High-throughput identified perilipin-associated proteins by immunoprecipitation and mass spec analysis
• In silico explored potential perilipin phosphorylation sites by bioinformatics analysis
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA
January 2003 – October 2007 Research Fellow Metabolic diseases
• Discovered lipocalin2 as new cytokine in adipocytes that plays a role in obesity-induced insulin resistance
• Elucidated a set of transcriptional factors involved in adipocyte differentiation by qPCR-based DHSA high throughput screening
• In vivo analyzed adipose-selective regulatory motifs by transgenic studies
University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA
September 2001 – January 2003 Postdoctoral Research Scholar Endocrinology
• Transcription and hCG binding of LH receptors was dramatically induced by FSH or 8-Br-cAMP in primary cultured granulosa cells from DES-primed immature rats
• Regulation of LH receptor by FSH/cAMP in mammalian granulosa cell line KK-1 in similar yet distinguishable manner
