EXPERIENCE:
Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ)-(January 2003-present)
• Air Inspector: In this position, my duties included conducting facility inspections, observing facility annual compliance stack-testing, reviewing facility records and compliance tests, and reviewing draft permits. My job duties required interaction with engineers, consultants, and enforcement at both the state and federal levels. On occasion, I was also responsible for emergency management duties such as spills, fires, or major releases.
Teris, L.L.C. (formerly ENSCO, Inc June 2001-August 31, 2002)
• Operations Service Representative II: In this position, I worked alongside the chemists to maintain customers’chemical profiles (waste streams) for accuracy and interacted with plant personnel to provide technical support to ensure material was shipped properly in accordance with all federal EPA and state regulations. I also provided plant/operation departmental support with processing waste in the most cost effective and efficient manner while maintaining all regulations and permit guidelines. I oversaw all laboratory discrepancies we had with waste shipments and communicated with the generator and waste brokers to get the discrepancy(s) corrected so the material could be processed. I aided our field services group (EnPak) with technical information, job numbers, and contacted them with any load problems from their jobs when their regular supervisor was out of the office. I also attended household hazardous waste events in various states to provide technical assistance on weekends.
ENSCO, Inc. (December 2000-June 2001)
• Operations Service Representative I: Job duties included hands-on technical communication with customers, overseeing shipments (including manifesting) for accuracy, checking profiles for validity, and interacting with the approval chemists. I shipped waste samples we received into our facility in route to third-party disposal outlets for approval and completed all the documentation for their shipment out of the plant. In order to send these samples out I had to communicate with the original generator of the material and verify the manner it was to be shipped out of our plant, making certain to follow all transportation regulations as instructed by Fed-Ex. I took this position to advance in the company as well as use my extensive chemical and scientific background.
ENSCO, Inc. (October 2000-December 2000)
• Customer Sales Representative: Job duties included one-on-one communication with our customers of Texas. My customers included Bell Helicopter, Raytheon, and Air Liquide, whose combined shipments comprised a quarter of our company’s total revenue (our biggest sales territory in the Middle America Region). I continually called customers to schedule and arrange waste pick-ups, created manifests and land bans, and routinely checked all orders for accurate billing. I verified profiles and made necessary corrections with the customer to make them approved for shipment. I also took responsibility in assessing other companies of interest and made the sale of our services to them, organized contracts, and initialized their shipments.
Skills/Versatility:
• Proficient with most computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Proficient in State and Federal Codes and Regulations
• Extensive chemical training including reactions/compatibility and packaging techniques using MSDS and DOT information
• Positions held has enabled me to work well with various personalities and temperaments
Plans/Future Pursuits:
• I plan to add to my continuing education and multi-media experience by completing coursework and securing licensure in waste water and solid waste.
