Objective

I began as the Plant Manager before construction began, and oversaw the
completion of the construction, start up, and expanded it twice again in
2008 & 2011 and then two expansions in 2012. Have maintained high quality
standards, and are on the cutting edge of new product developments.
Safety, quality, and team involvement centered around continuous
improvement.
Responsibilities included Safety, P&L, Production Management, Quality
Management, New Products, Site Maintenance, Facilities Planning, and other
responsibilities of day to day operations.
Areas of responsibility include Warehouse Management, Materials Management,
Fiber Manufacturing, and directly working with Extrusion and Carpet
Manufacturing. Travel Required. 350 employees
Production Manager 11/2002 -

I returned in 2002 to take over an area with 550 employees that had
struggled with costs, quality, and volume. In less than one year, costs
were cut, quality was exceptional, and volume was past expectations.
Safety was also a focus and waste was reduced by more than a third in the
first year. Maintenance also greatly improved with PM Programs instituted.
Turnover was reduced as a result.

Production Manager
Beneteau is a builder of the finest sailboats in the world. I was hired to
start up an expansion from ground breaking to startup of the plant and new
assembly area. Educated and trained a new work force. Was responsible for
safety, quality & production in the expansion project. I was also a member
of their race team for two years.

Company specialized in 'one of a kind' construction projects for
homeowners, but filled volume needs with condo & hotel installations.
Responsibilities included P&L, Production, Sales & Marketing, Costing, HR,
OSHA compliance, and Engineering. Startup in June 1999, after which sales
tripled, and costs were reduced per unit.

Managed the production flow of 2,000,000 lbs. of carpet yarn weekly, with
multiple SKUs. By working with the production managers and the Corporate
Planning Department, was able to eliminate many changeovers, bring flows
out of interrupted situations, and increase overall efficiencies. By
assisting Corporate planning, was also responsible for reducing SKUs within
13 plants by combining SKUs, and dedicating certain SKUs to specific
plants. Also responsible for purchasing raw material. Reported to

Responsibilities included managing a department of 100+ employees, and four
supervisors. Accidents, Off Quality, and production costs were reduced.
Over the same period of time, production was increased by 25% with
additional equipment by expanding the facility.

Total Quality Area Manager - Continuous Improvement
Responsible for 8 facilities. Instituted a Total Quality Program at three
facilities in SC, two in Georgia, and three in NC. Changes were instituted
to bring all plants to their maximum running ability through Continuous
Improvement projects. The key to many gains made in the businesses were by
defining Key Process Measures & Key Performance Measures, and continually
working on those with SPC applications and other Continuous Improvement
Methodologies. I was involved with hundreds of events over a 3 year
period, in various roles: facilitator, leader, member, advisor, or simply
through oversight. I also trained dozens of facilitators during that
period of time. I also established a Monthly Reporting Review and a
Quarterly Review.
Involved heavily in the acquisition and assimilation of several companies
into the Mohawk family during this time period. Horizon, Karastan Bigelow,
Galaxy, and Alladin.
