Description : Walgreen’s is one of largest RETAIL chain in USA With more than 7800
Stores. SIMS is one of the module in which I am currently working to maintain inventory at each Walgreen store across USA. There are many ways for finding items which require getting order like Forecasting, Seasonal sales etc. So, accordingly store acquires those items by different methods viz.:

3. Claims – [RX Claims, Vendor Claims, Warehouse Claims, CL Claims etc…]

So, that minimum shelf quantity can be maintained at Plano-gram link level. Vendors then send the actual merchandise which store receives it and update the inventory. At the same time store also Post the order so that amount should get dispersed to the vendor by A/P department.

Project Description : Enhancement to RX claims process. Now we changed the process to introduce three options for claiming RX items. 1. RECALL 2. SALVAGE and 3. OVERSTOCK. Item information will be controlled by business users from central server and they will send down the items to stores for claiming. Every Friday reports will be generated for items going to get expired next Friday.
Options are given on both RF Guns and the AS400. My role here is to lead the project, do the requirement gathering and coordinate with offshore team. Also, data communication now is being changed from old upload download process to NAI process which is far more advance and reliable.

ARS and MRS stands for Artist/Mechanical Royalty System which is complex system and handles mainly calculation and statement generation part for the beneficiaries.

Project Description : To do the Digital Download. To allow the calculation for the Digital Downloads. Currently there is no such way exists for calculating the royalties for the Digital Downloads products such as Ring Tune and Ring Back processing.

Feasibility study: To come up with the feasibility study of the project and impact on the various modules being affected. Total of 7 different programs of calc were affected, 2 of upload, 3 for statement and 4 for auditing.

Project : Retrieving CLLE source from CLLE object.
Time Period : 19th March 2007 to 2nd April 2007.

Project Description : To retrieve the CLLE source from CLLE object. There is always needed of such tool to retrieve the source from the deleted object. So from this prospective we developed this code. Dump of the given object is taken and then from the given dump we again regenerate the code.
Feasibility study: To come up with the study of various dump code generated for different CLLE code. Marking the start and end of each statement in the code. Handling the declaration of file in CLLE.
Analyzing requirements: Here we define our predefined tasks like how to write the new member, designing the input screen for the user, validating the inputs from the users like checking for the object existence, type of file, library and the source PF in which it was created. We have also used some API’s like QUSLOBJ from here we have extracted the originating source file name and the library name.
Coding and Testing: Coding phase includes the free formatting style of RPGLE. And the RPGLE standards are also followed. Unit test cases and unit test reviews are created side by side after the completion of each module of the project. Final project testing will be done at last.

Project : Spool to PDF Generation

Project Description : To Create a PDF file from a SCS spool file. Generating a PDF document from the spool file by using a user space. Spool File API’s have been used to get the attribute of the spool file to a data structure from where we can get the number of pages, buffers to store data etc. Inbuilt Modules of IFS like OPEN CLOSE WRITE UNLINK are used to write a PDF File.
Role & Responsibilities : Team Lead.
Analyzing requirements: Basic requirements for the spool file like spool file attributes, creation of user space, defining the end Control characters for the spool file in the user space.
Making use of the binding directory QC2LE for the use of the procedures like write, unlink, atoi, itoa. Making use of different procedures for handling the XML coding for the PDF file.
Making procedure for how to convert the EBCDIC code for the AS400 system to the ASCII format of the PDF file.
Coding and Implementing: Coding includes the modulating every parts of the programs. Every function has been divided into sub procedures like for writing the header information for the PDF file we use WriteHeader, for detail format we use WriteDetail and so on. Various API’s like QSPCRTSP Creating the spool file, QSPOPNSP Opening up the spool file, QSPGETSP Getting the data from the spool to user space, QSPCLOSP Closing the spool file, QUSCRTUS Creating the user space, QUSDLTUS Deleting the user space, QUSPTRUS Making the basing pointer to the user space, QUSRSPLA for getting the spool file attribute, QMHSNDPM for message handling. Command has also been created for the SPL2PDF converter.

Project Description : Project mainly deals with printing of challaan for different firms, which buy the twisted threads from our organization. Challaan for the different firms like Digjam, Raymond, and Arvind mills are produced sequentially after the request to dispatch twisted threads is received. RRN reference order number is taken as key with the date and each firm is assigned a different code. Every time when request is made, next RRN is generated. SQLRPGLE get the next number. At Bottom of every challaan totals are given and at the end of the order, Grand totals are shown to the clients for simplicity of payments.

Project Description : To calculate the wages for workers depending on picks produced by them on different machines and rate per hour of that machine. Our main concern was on the generation of salary depending on the hours worked, picks produced per machine, machine type like DORNIER, SULZER, PICANOL with their varying speed, night shifts and section in which they were working. Continuation of shifts gives an extra benefit to the worker. Also, calculation of the total yearly attendance, remaining leaves, their CLW, ALW, SLW, LTA, absent and their total amount for the leaves not availed.

The project is an in-house project, directed towards designing an internal product to generate the bill for the customers who have purchased any item from the shop. Bills include FULL, CUT and DEBIT bills. Each type is having a unique bill number generated every time for a new bill.
Reports : Generating Ledgers, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly reports for the sale done. Reports on sale for every type of bill. In Case of debit Bills the amount standing towards the customer etc. Crystal Reports have also been used interacted with AS400 through DSN Connection for the quick exporting of reports to different formats.
