2009-2010 GOURMET FACTORY-HAUPPAUGE, NY

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Manager in charge of Warehouse Operations, Production Department, facilities and fleet maintenance.

Responsible for directing the activities of the Warehouse Manager, Production Manager, Inventory Control Supervisor and Data Entry clerk for this importer and distributor of food products.

G.A.L. MANUFACTURING CORPORATION- BRONX, NY

2006 – 2009 WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Directly responsible for overall facilities, warehouse operations, inventory control functions, and for directing the activities of 25 employees including; material handlers, truck drivers, supervisors and data entry personnel for this multi-site manufacturer/distributor of elevator components.

Project manager responsible for designing the current warehouse layout and for directing the selection and construction of all storage systems, conveyance equipment and support fixtures.

Successfully completed the project under budget and ahead of schedule, effectively establishing over 900 physical/systems updated locations on 2 floors of this 60,000 sq. ft. warehousing facility.

Improved overall inventory accuracy and visibility from 65% to 95% through initiatives that focused on organization, analysis and identification of system record errors and missing item master data. Sustained inventory integrity improvements by establishing formal processes for receipt of goods, incoming verification, order processing and cycle counting.

Established performance metrics and Customer Service standards that resulted in dramatic improvements in order requisition processing time from 24/48 hours to an average of 2 hours. Inbound shipment processing went from an average of 1 week to 1 day.

Partnered with the Technology group to develop a system for delivery of finished goods that reduced customer waiting time from an average of 2 hours to 15 minutes.

Formed strong partnerships with key suppliers and gained collaboration on product identification and packaging issues resulting in reduced labor and improved time to market of products.

2004 – 2006 LANGER INC. DEER PARK, N.Y.

WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Re-designed existing warehouse layout and increased storage capacity by 30% enabling the elimination of an off-site 15,000 sq. ft. storage facility with concurrent staff reduction from

24 to 18 employees.

Evaluated work-flow methods and tools, added computerized work stations, conveyors and material handling equipment resulting in improved efficiencies and productivity.

Implemented a skills assessment and training program for warehouse and production personnel that produced a more knowledgeable, disciplined, cross-functional team.

Partnered with the Customer Service Department to design a process for tracking errors that provided key information and facilitated corrective action. Over time this process effectively reduced shipping errors to less than 1%.

Introduced a replenishment program in partnership with the Production Manager that resulted in reduced downtime for technicians and minimized work-flow interruptions.

Manager in charge of warehousing, transportation and general inventory movement for this importer/distributor of high-end tile and bath products and accessories.

Re-organized inventory based on usage history and provided data that assisted the CFO in identifying and disposing of obsolete items.

Implemented productivity and accountability measures and introduced efficient processes for product receipt, storage, packing and shipping. These efforts facilitated the reduction of personnel from 14 employees to 6.

Revised packing methods, partnered with transportation providers and reduced damaged freight claims by 75%.
