Management Manager

I am a ** year old student in my second year at Sheffield Hallam University. I am studying Events Management for the next three years and would love to gain some more experience in the industry. I have all the qualities an Events manager should possess. I am enthusiastic and have a cheerful, likeable and outgoing personality. I am hard working and always achieve my best in anything I set out for. My previous experience includes corporate events, catering, weddings and birthdays within a wide range of venues ranging from restaurants to the international exhibition centre in Manchester. I am passionate about business and events and recently reached the final stages of ‘The Apprentice’ auditions.

2011 - 2012 Nellie Shepherd Events

Personal Assistant – Since April 2011, I have worked at Nellie Shepherd Events as Nellie’s Personal Assistant. I have taken on a wide number of roles including interaction with clients, suppliers and sub-contractor, sales, collecting payment and dealing with finance and also designing and running events both for adults and children. I have also contributed ideas and over-seen them develop such as creating a second office in London. Recently I have also been involved in creating an event for JK Rowling.

2008 - 2012 Amba Restaurant and Bar, Hale

Supervisor - For 4 year I have worked at Amba initially as a waitress. Recently I was promoted to a supervisor. I have to interact constantly with customers and staff. I also train staff, work on the bar and open and close the restaurant. Although I am at university I work regularly for Amba during the holidays.

Waitress - I work once a month for Brynleys catering as a waitress also helping set up and clear events.

VACATION JOBS

2009 Pizza Express, Hale

Waitress – I worked at Pizza Express over the summer to gain more experience in a restaurant other than Amba. I was given the responsibility of a section of the restaurant to run. This meant seating the customers, taking orders, making drinks and running food. It was great to experience a restaurant run by a chain.

2007 Meadway Health Centre, Sale

Work experience – This was my first experience of working. I was given the responsibility of filing patients’ paperwork. I also interacted with patients, making appointments over the telephone and in person. It was my first experience of working in a highly pressurised and time-sensitive environment.

PERSONAL INFORMATON

• At university I am a member of the Drama society. I enjoy theatre and was a member of the Garrick theatre company in Altrincham for 7 years prior to moving to Sheffield. As a result of appearing regularly on stage I have built my confidence and enjoy interacting with people. I have also appeared as an extra in the second and third Harry Potter film which was an incredible experience.

• In summer I also made it through the first two auditions of The Apprentice proving I have ambition in life.

• Also over summer I went travelling for 5 weeks around Europe which was a great experience and helped me understand different cultures.

• I also worked a weekend at the Mind, Body and Soul expedition in Manchester interacting with customers and promoting and selling products.

• Just before I came to university I completed my NPLQ Lifeguard course qualifying me to work as a lifeguard.

• I contributed to the Young enterprise team at collage, selling personalised tracksuits

• I am also a keen skier and enjoy reading, travelling and socialising
