EXPERIENCE
• Areas of expertise include:
Business process design, problem solving, and project management.
Lean Six Sigma, A-3’s, Process Flow, 5-S, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, SOP’s
Process Optimization, Training, and Analysis
• Responsible for facilitating a 5% annual conversion cost reduction goal across a $1 billion food retail and foodservice manufacturer (14 plants).
• Designed company-wide “bottom-up’ driven Lean effort, using on-site training and auditing, and employee driven training programs.
• Developed company-wide Value Stream Mapping system and Process software using Visio VBA. Experience with both ODBC and .xml data transfer.
• Successfully designed and implemented company-wide 5-S program and High Performance Teams, resulting in a 100% passing rate for various audits: AIB, BRC, and all customer audits from both retail and foodservice.
• Six-Sigma – Greenbelt and Black Belt. Designed and implemented statistical processes for measuring and achieving six- sigma accuracy for manufacturing and distribution processes.
• Lean – designed and implemented corporate waste reduction programs (Mistake Proofing, AQC, A-3, 5-S).
• Improved manufacturing and distribution processes performing time unit and work-studies using the Maynard Operational Sequence Techniques and Quetech Time Study software.
• Improve productivity and organizational effectiveness using quantitative analysis, specifically modeling and simulating, using linear and non-linear optimization, Monte Carlo, etc. Software used was EngineRoom, LINDO and Premium Solver.
• Routinely used Excel, EngineRoom, and Minitab to compile product statistics and probability distributions based on Pareto, Poisson, and normal curves. Used Parametric and Non-Parametric Statistics to determine labor requirements, machine performance specs, and layout affinities.
• Supervised critical path using MS Project; oversaw all plan take-offs, verification, and punchlisting.
SKILLS
• Expert in Lean Six Sigma and Lean design – created company wide KPI system linking continuous Improvement projects directly to KPI’s. Helped facilitate Activity Based Costing system using Value Stream Mapping system streamed with company production models. Able to design, map, determine work standards, and write standard operating procedures for all phases of manufacturing and distribution.
• Performed in a core capacity over Blackbelt projects each exceeding the stated goal with high levels (<95%) of significance and <63% correlation.
• In Distribution, designed storage systems using Wide Aisle, Narrow Aisle, and Very Narrow Aisle concepts & technology; AS/RS; powered and gravity conveyor; dynamic and static storage systems, and software. Focus on Retail. Foodservice, direct ship, e-commerce, and wholesale.
• In Manufacturing, design JIT systems; lean and kanban, analyze and calculate quantitative workloads, equipment investment analysis (payback, NPV, and IRR); optimize space, cube, and flow; specify and integrate picking systems, implement TQM.
• Routinely use all Microsoft Office programs, MS Project, Visio, AutoCAD, Microstation, TurboCAD, QMF, Document Direct, Lindo, Solver and a host of other programs.
• Intimate knowledge of national, state and municipal building (BOCA/IBC & UBC) and fire codes (NFPA), common insurance requirements (UL and FM), OSHA regulations, freezer and cooler codes, and dock safety codes.
