Resume:

Jiun-Chi Chao Ph.D.

Engineer/Geochemist

********@*****.***

Summary

• Detail-oriented environmental engineer/geochemist with extensive experience in research and business aspects of oil and gas production issues (conventional & unconventional such as shale gas, tight gas and coal bed methane).

• Integrate HC fingerprinting data with other types of subsurface information to assess reservoir connectivity, allocate commingled oil or gas production, and solve well engineering problems in producing fields

• Improving pay allocation on production wells with mud gas system & water characteristics evaluation. (Interpreting molecular and isotopic data obtained on crude oil, condensate, natural gas and water samples)

• Integrate fluid inclusion technology with traditional geochemistry (such as source rock evaluation) to have better understanding on petroleum system, hydrocarbon migration, and prospect evaluation (and have worked on oversea projects such as Libya, Egypt, North Sea, Colombia, Caspian, UAE,..etc).

• Develop the application for statistic modeling (HCA, PCA) with integration of petroleum and chemical engineering disciplines to define petroleum reservoir connectivity and monitor the oil quality.

• Develop flow assurance and environmental remediation technologies and primary objective is to mitigate and remediate organic deposits in well bores and pipelines.

• Designing crude oil, natural gas, and water sampling and analytical programs; applying reservoir geochemistry techniques (such as HC fingerprinting and time-lapse geochemistry; expert in GC, GC HPLC, GCMS, FTIR, atomic absorption, bench wet chemistry, and other ASTM, EPA methods ).

• Maintain the integrity of all geological (geophysical and geochemical data) and engineering database (work with softwares such as Petra, ArcView, and Geographix.)

• System design project to improve produced water quality from a coalbed methane facility using modified / advanced Reverse Osmosis technology.

• Provide the state-of-art technology in chemical, biological, and environmental engineering to solve practical environmental problems.
