I am responsible for processing disaster cases within Jones, Jasper, Wayne, Clarke, Smith, Scott and Smith counties. I conduct interviews in person and by phone to determine client’s eligibility for disaster relief funds and provide referral services to other agencies for further assistance. I process Emergency Communication Messages (ECM) for the Armed Services whereby I communicate with others to verify the situation and relay the message to the proper authorities to assist in their decision making regarding a service person's request for emergency leave. I also maintain and update records in the Disaster Service Human Resource (DSHR) and SABA tracking volunteers' training and their availability to deploy to a disaster both locally and nationally. I am the agent for Charity Tracker, an internet-based system whereby we collaborate with other agencies to reduce fraud and focus our resources on people with real needs by keeping track of who is getting help in the community. Additionally, I respond to emergency scenes and serve as "staff on duty" for after-hours coordination of service delivery as well as participate in volunteer training, management and recognition events.

I served as the administrative support person for the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. My duties include oversight responsibility for six stations located in Laurel, McComb, Gulfport, Gautier, Meridian and Hattiesburg.
On a daily basis I ensured the accuracy and compliance of all documents under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense (DOD), Army and United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) regulations. Oversaw the preparation, maintenance and destruction of confidential documents required for future soldiers seeking to join the Army. Independently organized frequently used files and documents so they were readily accessible for the Commander and First Sergeant's use. Compiled, analyzed and reviewed end of month reports, future solider roster, Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) reports as well as other documents related to military personnel. Tracked mileage and maintenance for all government issued cars in the Battalion. Made all travel and hotel accommodations for new recruits and monitored all reservations in an effort to prevent unnecessary charges to the government. I also maintained the postal supply inventory and made sure the office work space was kept neat and orderly at all times.
