Business Unit Controller (TEC) 2006 – 2012

Managed all financial operations for several business units, including two newly-established divisions. Key partner with business leaders in general management, product management, engineering and operations functions.

• Designed and implemented all systems/financial tools following the split from Tyco International to drive decision-making and results at the business unit level

• Enterprise-wide design and implementation of business intelligence related to investments in new product development resulting in cutting time to market by 50% and improving engineering efficiency by 10%

• Established planning, forecasting and reporting processes and policies for two new divisions allowing them to drive business results through a complex matrix organization

Business Unit Controller (Tyco) 2000 – 2005

Controller for the $150 million battery pack manufacturing unit of a $40 billion conglomerate, including all international operations and financial reporting

• Integrated the division following the acquisition, including the financial systems setup, integration and staffing for six international locations (China, Brazil, Scotland, Hungary, Malaysia and Mexico). Reduced manufacturing costs more than 50% resulting in significant expansion in customer base (50% travel to China)

• Closed down several facilities as manufacturing was transitioned to international locations, managing HR, tax and associated legal issues with each

• Designed and implemented a total revamp of internal controls and reporting resulting in 100% compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

• Streamlined and integrated SAP, BPCS and Hyperion Financial Systems, creating significant business intelligence applications and improving data reliability

Business Unit Controller (Thomas & Betts) 1997 – 2000

Primary financial executive for four business units with total sales of $600M for this $2.5B manufacturer.

• Drove the acquisition integration which more than doubled the size of T&B’s Electronics/OEM segment reducing cost by more than $20 million.

• Created and implemented enterprise-wide general ledger, forecasting and financial reporting systems utilizing Oracle, Hyperion Pillar and Hyperion Enterprise Software driving timely information for decision making and actions, significant improvement in closing cycle

• Led negotiation and due diligence efforts on several mergers/acquisitions/divestitures

American Medical Products (a MASCO Company) 1995 – 1997
