Perris, CA 2008 - 2009

Directed the daily efforts of 250 associates with 5 direct reports in a 24-hour a day operating distribution center for a major appliance manufacturer. Areas of control included customer servic, employee development, administration, inventory, reverse logistics, financial management, order fulfillment, receiving, stocking, and purchasing. Also, responsible for the continuous improvement process, project management, employee morale, safety, security, training, facilities management and resource allocation for the operation.

Key Successes:

-Consolidated three 500K sq. ft. buildings into a 1.75 mil. sq. ft. center.

-Implemented a total radio frequency (Manhattan) warehouse management system.

UTI LOGISTICS

Assistant General Manager

Baytown, TX 2007 – 2008

Directed 450 associates to include 9 direct reports in 2 retail import facilities that are 2.2 mil sq. ft. for a major retailer. Responsible for resource allocation, order fulfillment, receiving, safety, training, truck/trailer parking management and the continuous improvement for the operation.

Key Successes:

-Increased order filling accuracy from 92% to 97% through design, development, and implementation of a formal auditing/associate feedback program.

Project Manager Logistics

Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua 2004 - 2007

Responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of a warehouse and transportation network to support an appliance manufacturing facility with inbound of raw materials and the shipment of finished goods to North and South America. Areas of control included developing carrier networks (truck load, intermodal, less than truck load, parcel packaging, and rail car), carrier rates, routing guides, trailer parking facilities, freight forwarding facilities, warehouse facilities and customs process/procedures.

Key Successes:

-Led and/or participated in cross functional teams that generated contract proposal, assessed the proposal responses and selected the vendors. This process resulted in the selection of 150 vendor/partners providing services for the manufacturing complex.

-Developed and implemented the policies and procedures to become C-TPAT certified by the United States Homeland Customs and Security agency at 2 cross dock facilities and a trailer/truck parking facility.

-Saved $600,000 annually in transportation cost by sharing resources with raw material providers and through redesign of the finished goods distribution network.

Responsible for the daily efforts of 120 associates with 4 direct reports in a 250K sq. ft. building.
