Farm Officer

Army Stud Farm Probynabad is the Oldest and biggest modern agriculture farm in Pakistan since 1876, comprising 5500 acres of agriculture land and is engaged in production of cereal crops( Sugarcane, cotton etc) fruits(stone fruit etc.) and vegetables (Lettuce etc.) , sales of agriculture commodities, rearing of livestock and agriculture related Research and Development ( R & D ) activities . It is top listed agriculture farm with 310 employees & a annual turnover of Rs.40M.Rupees.

The primary focus of this role is to carry out all aspects of agriculture production including soil science, agronomy, irrigation, plant nutrition and fertilizer, fertigation, pest and weed control, cereals crops, fruits and vegetables production and Research & Development activities.

Key Achievements

• Water Saving Irrigation Practices

Introduced and implemented water saving irrigation Practices including, Field Practices, Management Strategies and system modifications. Field Practices proved typically less expensive. Management Strategies helped in monitoring correct amount

of moisture delivered to plants and modified existing irrigation system by installing drip irrigation and micro – sprinklers.

• Soil Fertility

Investigated & improved soil fertility taking into account microbial populations, soil fauna, content of organic matter and presence of Nitrogen, Phosphors, Potassium and other micro elements required for plant growth and productivity.

• Farm Management –Cereal Crops

Modified conventional farming by modern farming, which resulted in increase of profitability of the Farm. Managed 850 acres of land successfully and cultivated multiple cereal crops, achieving yield targets. Scheduled, managed and carried out regular maintenance of Drip Irrigation System. Maintained record of crops , agronomic operations and crop performance. Managed the agronomic staff and directed the work program. Assisted in organizing and implementing of field activities.

• Farm Management – Vegetables

Provided latest techniques for nursery raising & planting of potato, tomato,

Sweet pepper, hot pepper, cucumber, melon,and lettuce. Controlled the

Insects & diseases of vegetables by applying preventive & curative chemicals.

Applied fertilizers through fertigation & used micro- nutrients through leaves for

• Farm Management – Orchard

Managed the Orchard of Mangoes, Citrus, Apricot, Lemon & Stone Fruit on 80
