I am the right candidate for this job because I have a very unique and pertinent skill set that qualifies me to be a Coldwell Banker real estate assistant.
Currently, I am finishing the second of three prerequisite courses for the real estate salesperson license, so I should be a licensee within the next couple of months. The courses I am taking are online, but state law restricts the completion time of each course to 2.5 weeks.
I am free Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after 9 A.M. and all day on the weekend. Tuesdays and Thursdays are completely filled with coursework.
Currently, I am attending both West Valley and De Anza community colleges as a cost savings method for my four year degree. I am enrolled in the UCLA honors program as a mathematics economics major (I turned down Berkeley because they do not offer this major). Because I need to return to LA and finish my degree, I am not looking to pursue a salesperson job at this time. However, any training in that area would still be highly appreciated.
I possess all of the qualities listed in the job description. I have not used photo shop in a while, and I have limited experience with HTML, but I am certain my skills will improve quickly. I would be willing to commit time outside of work to better learning HTML as I am required to learn C++ for my UCLA major, and HTML is a good starting point for learning to program.
Various life experiences have helped me to develop superb communication skills.
I participated in a lot of sports teams during high school, so I would definitely qualify myself as a team player. Towards the end of high school, I started doing triathlons and I am a member of the UCLA triathlon team. I compete up to the 1/2 Ironman distance.
My only "official" previous work experience is at the recently deceased Jamba Juice Saratoga. I worked there over the summer a couple of year ago and developed customer service skills. Working at Jamba requires a much more social personality than the typical food service job. Although I was trained and worked in all positions, my primary job was working the cash register. This position was very face-to-face with customers, and called for a lot of quick thinking. The most demanding part was rapidly supplying suggestions based on customer needs and being careful to adhere to all of the fine points of company policy. It is necessary to have a very outgoing personality to work at Jamba, and candidates for jobs there are screened to a very high standard for this.
Throughout high school, I tutored both for free and for pay. Although I worked far fewer hours, this job proved to be more lucrative than Jamba. Understanding academic material has always been easy for me, and I pick up on new topics quicker than most. Tutoring requires a great deal of patience and, above all, a good understanding of what students do not understand.
I loved all of my work experiences, and would probably do them for free if I did not have college to pay for. The main reason I am applying for this job is experience. I am an economics fanatic, if you cannot tell by my major, and the California real estate industry has become the crucible for modern economic policy. I am a perfect match for this job because I have a lot to offer to Coldwell Banker, and it has a lot to offer to me.
Thank you,
William Perera
