Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (majored in Mechanics, Math, Probability Theory and Statistics, Aviation Engine Technology).

Microtrain Technologies, Deerfield, IL, USA, Certification of Six Sigma Green Belt, Oct 2011.

(also took courses on PMP/CAMP Project Management, Sept 2011 and ITIL V3 Foundation, Oct 2011).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

01/2009 – present

Continue my education by taking courses on Six Sigma Green Belt, ITIL V3 Foundations, PMP/CAMP Project Management with Microtrain Technologies (Deerfield, IL), also work as a self-employed performing a project on an invention (or a book) preparation on a new effective method for metallic materials creep rupture life prediction (using my previous developments and publications).

04/2008 – 12/2008 Caterpillar, Inc. Aurora, IL

(Caterpillar is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, and industrial gas turbines).

Assigned to work as a Contractor - Reliability Engineer by VOLT Technical Resources.

Analyzed failure stories and time-to-failure data for powertrain mechanisms (differentials, final drives, brakes, clutches, and etc.) of Underground Mining Machines, Large Wheel Loaders, Track-Type Tractors, Wheel Tractor Scrapers, by using the product field failures database.

Determined B10 Life (the time by which 10% of the product population will get failed) for the above products by using Weibull Analysis and constructed the powertrains’ B10 Life roll-ups.

Improved the Company Weibull computation algorithm by using F-test for regression equations.

11/2007 – 12/2007 Recon/Optical, Inc. Barrington, IL

(ROI is the oldest aerial reconnaissance corporation and producer of stabilized remotely operated weapon systems).

Assigned to work as a Contractor – Quality Assurance Engineer by ESPO Engineering Corporation.

Involved in stock reassessment procedure with the use of Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) product certification, writing Product Inspection Reports (PIRs).

Participated in problem resolution process in subcontractor facilities in Chicago area.

05/2005 – 12/2006 CNH America LLC - Burr Ridge Operations Burr Ridge, IL

(CNH is one of the leading manufacturers of agricultural tractors and combines in the world).

Reliability / Common Methods Engineer

Developed Reliability Growth Plans for products like agricultural tractors and planters.

Monitored and analyzed Reliability Growth Test data; reported and discussed them with a cross functional team. Determined life of consumable parts by using Weibull Analysis.

Analyzed warranty data and performed New Content analysis for the above mentioned products.

As a Problem Solving Tutor monitored, analyzed, and distributed information on failures occurred during field tests among designer groups and participated in Failure Analysis, FMEA meetings, and 8D problem resolution process.

04/2004 – 11/2004 Knowles Electronics, LLC Itasca, IL

(The Company profile: subminiature electronic components for aerospace, computer, medical, instrumentation, military, and telecommunication applications)

Quality / Reliability Engineer – Independent Contractor

Processed data of circuit boards’ and final products’ qualification tests. Obtained statistically grounded conclusions about reliability of the tested products. Used Descriptive Statistics, Capability Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) Study, One-way- / Two-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Regression Analysis, and etc.

Improved some computational procedures on the basis of Robust Statistics and special “quick” statistical methods. Participated in some R&D projects as a specialist on Statistics.

1997 – 2004 Worked as a Quality Engineer / Metrologist for Blackstone Manufacturing Co., Inc., Chicago, IL, 1997 - 1999 (Company profile: assembling fuel pumps for cars); Overland Bolling Co, Franklin Park, IL, 1999 - 2000 (manufacturer of small precision stampings); R&A Quality Inspection Agency, Wheeling, IL, 2000 – 2002 (small educational organization). Also worked as a freelance Russian – English Translator, Chicago area, 2002 -2004.

1994 – 1996 Was a student of Chicago colleges concentrated on some aspects of Quality Engineering and Computer Science; also worked as a freelance Russian – English Translator.

Test / Research / Reliability Engineer

Tested physical and mechanical properties of materials (metals, plastics, thin- and thick-film resistors for electronics) after exposure them to various environmental and operational factors (temperature, humidity, mechanical or electrical loads, etc.). Used Advanced Statistics to process and interpret the test data.

As a specialist on Advanced Statistics participated in projects on developing some new materials (thin- and thick-film resistors, an adhesive material) and their technologies. Conducted seminars on DOE and Advanced Statistics for the Company colleagues and students of Lvov University.

Led a project on developing a new effective method for metallic materials creep rupture life prediction.
