PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Senior Electrical Engineer (active secret clearance) 2005 - 2011
Rockwell Collins Government Systems, Richardson, TX
• Senior Electrical Engineer for an End Cryptographic Unit (ECU) host board design. ECU host board consisted of a 22 layer PWB with multiple processors.
• Senior Electrical Engineer for CAA-201 LRM for the FCS program.
• Senior Electrical Engineer for the F22 Depot.
• Senior Electrical Engineer for the E6B Block I LRIP re-spins of the CSU-M IP Phone board and Audio board.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Designed dual processor board (Freescale MPC8270, Intel Ethernet, FLASH, Micron SDRAM, RS485, DS-101). Lead three PCB
Designers simultaneously on the 22 layer board layout. Designed micro-controller board interfacing the LCD display to the ECU host board. Coordinate with the mechanical engineer all wire harnesses for the ECU chassis. IPT and CAM for the ECU project.
• FCS LRM consisted of two host boards, 38999 I/O board, 12 Crypto Ignition Key (CIK) board, dual seven segment display board, and two flex cables.
• Designed board to test the power card modules for the F22 LRM. The board would measure the voltage regulators and power supplies of the F22 LRM.
• The CSU-M IP Phone board needed obsolete FLASH replaced and the Audio board was relayed out to reduce cross talk.
Senior Electrical Engineer 2004 - 2005
EFW, Inc., Fort Worth, TX
• Provided product engineering support for the IHADSS (Integrated Helmet and Display Sight System) for the Apache Helicopter that
was developed in Israel.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Successful CDR and PDR with customer.
Senior Electrical Engineer (contractor, secret clearance) 2003 - 2004
Northrop Grumman Electronics Systems Corporation, Baltimore, MD
• Re-designed three 6U VMEbus A32/D16 master/slave boards for Prowler Radar System.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Boards include Xilinx (XC40xx and XCV1000) FPGA and CPLD devices utilizing VHDL code. Lead engineer for the boards through layout and manufacturing release.
• Wrote Test Specifications for the three 6U VMEbus A32/D16 master/slave boards.
• Wrote Engineering Test Plan for JSF DAS board.
• Reviewed and suggested hardware changes to the JSF DAS board. Changes included system clock architecture and Xilinx Rocket I/O
power supply source.
Senior Electrical Engineer (contractor) 2002 - 2003
Interphase Corporation, Plano, TX
• Supported PCI-X Giga Bit Ethernet board through PCB layout and production release.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Layout and production release were completed on schedule for a critical delivery.
Senior Electrical Engineer (contractor) 6/2002 – 10/2002
G.E. Transportation Systems – Global Signaling, Grain Valley, MO
• Re-designed 16 bit microprocessor board with double the previous FLASH and wrote the VHDL for new and existing CPLD (existing CPLD code was in schematic entry form).
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Re-designed, created new PCB layout and released to manufacturing on schedule.
Senior Electrical Engineer 1999 - 2001
ComSpace Corporation, Coppell, TX
• Coordinated the digital architecture for ComSpace’s Repeater Station. The system supports three data busses, eight LTR interfaces, four RF interfaces, and GPS interface.
• Designed 6U Dual DSP (Texas Instruments TMS320C6701) boards for ComSpace’s Repeater Station.
• Designed the twelve slot digital back plane for ComSpace’s Repeater.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Each DSP supports FLASH, SRAM, interrupt handling or generation, and control/status registers. One of the DSP has two DACs connected to its multi-channel buffered serial port and the other DSP has two ADCs connected to its multi-channel buffered serial port. Two Xilinx XC95144 and three Philips PZ3128 programmable logic devices, using VHDL, supports the memory decode, registers, DAC and ADC controls, Repeater Controller (MPC860) interface, and system timer. Responsible for layout, assembly, debug, and production release of the design.
• The back plane has three bus interfaces, and interfaces to the RF receiver, RF exciter, RF synthesizer, power amplifiers, and GPS. Responsible for layout, assembly, debug, and production release of the design.
• Designed the bus controller and data transfer bus for the Repeater Station to the 6U LTR Controller board utilizing a Xilinx XC95288 with VHDL. The device controls slot identification, interrupts, data transfer, Repeater Controller (MPC860) interface, and memory decode. Responsible for layout, assembly, debug, and production release of the design.
