Responsible for the installation and programming of Dragonwave’s Horizon Duo Modems, Ceragon Modems, Orthogons, and PTP600/400 Microwave equipment.
Duties included contacting the NOC to fix trouble tickets and outages during maintenance windows. Loading company provided scripts that contained frequency, capacity, and Tx Power information. Collected Data using new EVDO Software/ Invex 3G. Preformed SCFT testing. Worked closely with RF Engineers. Went to each sector of the BTS and tested upload and download speeds. Ideals speeds for the test were 1MB uploaded for every minute of time allowed and for downloads it was 1GB for every two mins. Slow speeds indicated that the BTS’s cards needed to be changed or bounced around. After all sectors were tested a PING test was conducted to test handoffs. Responsible for making sure that each tower was on new EV-DO network. If they were not on the right network they had to be changed manually from 1xRTT to EV-DO. Once all site were up and running moved to next market
