Responsibilities included: supervision of staff and review of individual, business and tax-exempt tax returns prepared by the staff. Also preformed tax planning, tax research and provided solutions for various client tax questions and problems. Incorporated businesses with the State of Illinois, worked with the IRS to establish an organization’s tax-exempt status, handled sales and use tax issues, Federal and state income tax audits, and reviewed payroll tax returns.

I was also in charge of the company’s IRS audit and the company’s sales and use tax audits with Illinois, California, Arizona, Washington and Louisiana including successfully negotiating appeals of our original Illinois sales and use tax assessments. In addition, I was responsible for tax research and planning and any legal filing requirements, i.e., annual reports, annual licenses, etc.
