Coursework and research experience with geographic information systems (GIS) including utilizing ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine; highly skilled in remote sensing of the environment, particularly utilizing satellite data and digital aerial photography datasets coupled with field data to monitor vegetation changes.
Extensive field work in fuels assessment, prescribed burning, vegetative survey in terrestrial and wetland ecosystems, utilizing global positioning systems equipment/data, and naturalistic biology techniques including: bird surveys and netting/banding, reptile and fish trapping/surveys, entomology, field geology (mapping and specimen collection), invertebrate trapping/surveys, and small mammal trapping.
Experienced scientific researcher with very strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.
Wildland firefighter type II training: completed S130/190/ICS 100 and pack test- March 2006; S131/191 completed in September 2007.
