WORK EXPERIENCE

Graduate Assistant, PLC and RISC Lab, University of Bridgeport, CT, USA JAN 2011 – DEC 2011

Lab Engineer, PLC and RISC Lab, University of Bridgeport, CT, USA JAN 2012 – Present

¬Designed EasyVeep port (FESTO) to communicate with PLC. It was an Educational project for students to test and to observe sensors and actuators function of the control systems such as Car parking lot, hot water tank etc.

Designed PLC Training Board for students which is implemented using two PLCs (Allen-Bradley Micrologix1000 and Mitsubishi FX2N/2C) integrated with push buttons, switches, relay, eye sensor proximity inductive sensor and lamps.

Worked on Robotic Arm integrated with conveyor line, cognex vision sensor, Proximity Sensors and Air Cylinder

Panel wiring & troubleshooting experience. Also generated panel schematics and electrical drawings in AutoCAD.

Control Panel Design of Quality Control Machine (Academic Project): This Project is implemented using Mitsubishi FX3U PLC, Mitsubishi E1041 HMI, IAI ERC2 actuator (Robo-cylinder) and Cognex 3G1 Vision Camera. This project deals with the identification and separation of good or bad products on IAI actuator with help of cognex vision camera. The schematics are designed in AUTOCAD and HMI is programmed with E-Designer Software.

Servo Motor Positioning System: Implemented using Mitsubishi PLC and Melservo J3 Amplifier. The purpose of this project was to control the servo motor to achieve some basic functions such as relative address positioning, absolute address positioning and zero return positioning. Servo-amplifier was programmed in MR-Configurator.

Closed loop communication and networking using VFD, PLC and Ethernet: [A] Using Allen Bradley SLC 5/03 PLC, Cutler Hammer Panelmate HMI [B] Using AB CompactLogix PLC (RSLogix5000) and AB Panelview plus 600 HMI. This project dealt with control of 3- phase motor at different speed, frequency and torque according to parameters in Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). Panel can be operated on the Ethernet (LAN) network through HMI.

Simulation and Control of 2-DOF Planar Robot: This was an exercise in robot dynamics that will compare the performance based on the PD Controller designed in simulation software MATLAB Simulink to robot movement.

¬Automation Engineer, Advanced-Tech Controls Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara, GJ, INDIA DEC 2008 – APR 2009

¬Designing and Functional Testing of Different types of Control Loop and PLC Control Panels.

Configuring Different types of cables such as Ethernet (RJ-45), RS-232, and RS-485.

Methanol Distillation Column Control (Academic Project): It was implemented using Ascon Controllers (AC Station AC-20 and SigmaPAC), Red Lion HMI and Iconics GENESIS32 SCADA. During the process, if any of the manipulated variables exceed the predefined value, alarm will occur and simultaneously it will send SMS through HMI to authorized person. Also developed web-HMI and web-SCADA.

¬

¬General Engineer Trainee, K. M. Integrators Pvt. Ltd., Surat, GJ, INDIA MAY 2008 – JUL 2008

¬Learned Programming and Troubleshooting with LabVIEW 7.5 and Configured different kinds of subVIs.

Studying ATx commands for communication with GSM Modem for SMS application.

Remote Communication Using GSM Protocol using LabVIEW (Project): In Switch Status Inspection Circuit, if switch is pressed, control system sends the SMS through GSM MODEM to the authorize person and simultaneously it logs the message and number of the person.
