Work Experience
Operator of Phos Acid pilot plant 8/11 – 4/12
Central Engineering, Lithia, FL
Worked on a project at Mosaic carrying out reactor set up process from acquiring rock to testing the final product, and making adjustments to the system based on results
Used previous runs to determine initial feed rate of materials fed into the reactors including sulfuric, the rock, recycle acid, and defoamer
Maintained a specific gravity range on each, the slurry, recycle acid, and product acid
Ran the plant to a point that Mosaic accepted and created good continuous stable production of product acid
Rewrote operation manuals as well as created a short PFD for this Phos Acid pilot plant specific set-up
Safety was always stressed, always sure to wear proper PPE
Lab Research Assistant 8/09 – 1/10 USF Chemical Engineering Department, USF Laboratories Tampa, FL
Worked with dangerous liquids in a controlled environment
Worked extensively with a control system and a gas/liquid chromatograph
Tested whether a new sensor was sensitive enough to detect small traces of different chemicals
