Qualifications

Experience in detail, layout, design and documentation in electrical and industrial design. Wiring, conduit sizing, cable tray layout, power panel and branch circuit layout and design, fire alarm layout. Design and layout of Control Rooms and Communications Facilities, Switchgear, wiring instrument piping, instrument details (process and air) electronic and pneumatic loop diagrams and main control panels layouts and wiring. Cable and harness design to MIL and ANSI specs. Construction supervision and installation of equipment in field per NEC and NEPA. Design of PCB and sub-straits, electro/mechanical equipment, plastics, sheet metal, cables and interconnect design and documentation, design of major assemblies and detail drawings. Build and trouble shoot prototype assy.

Position: Designer III

Department: Fossil & Hydro Engineering

. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Create and complete electrical design assignments with minimal supervision.

2. Check and approve drawings and design packages prepared by others

3. Prepare designs, calculations, equipment selections, studies and specifications

4. Oversee other designers, CAD operators and vendors.

5. Perform a number of functions in the field including walkdowns and design verification design in a power plant environment.

6. Field experience in an operating power plant

7. Proven expertise in both physical and conceptual electrical applications.

8. Knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls

9. Ability to plan, direct and take charge of technical work with minimal supervision.

10. Direct others, assign work and take responsibility for completing tasks on time and within budget.

11. Perform unsupervised field assignments.

12. Adapt to change, to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

13. Working in team environments, with other designers, engineers, vendors and contractors.

14. National Electric Code, IEEE and other industry standards.
