Operations P&L accountability for $500M business group of 4 plants.
Responsible for meeting production targets, satisfying customer
delivery requirements, meeting quality standards, and managing the
manufacturing added value standards. Multi-plant operations included a
sulfite pulp plant, chemical plant, paperboard mill and mechanical pulp
mill. Provided leadership to 800 employees (including union) with
direct reports in engineering, environmental, maintenance,
manufacturing production, IT, logistics, procurement, safety, HR and
accounting.
. Leadership: Promoted to increase operational effectiveness of newly
established business group.
. Developed strategic and operational plans for the business that
focused on growth or rationalization of production capacity to align
with the fluctuation of market demand.
. Initiated aggressive action plans to drive financial performance
and optimize production that centered on lean tools, efficiencies,
environmental, scrap, capacity, forecasting, staffing, safety,
quality and cost targets. Developed and managed budget with focus

0. At Sheldon Mill, managed two Horizontal Bel Baie news machines. The
operations leader for the $42MM No. 5 Machine rebuild. The 42-day
planned construction outage was completed in 41 days and the aggressive
start up curve was achieved.
1. At Pensacola, participated on the rebuild team for P-5 to the then,
world's largest fine paper machine. Managed one of the four operating
teams during check-outs, start up and for the first two years of
operation.
2. At Pasadena, coordinated the technical activities for the fine paper
coated machine complex, two uncoated machines and a pulp dryer.
