Release Technician/Quality Analyst I

• Major focus of work is analysis of test data from the SPQC (Slide Production Quality Control) laboratory which tests chemistry slides made specifically for OCD chemistry analyzers. Skills required for this job include following the appropriate SOP’s and Work Instructions, using LIMS, using VAX (to include holdfile creation and maintenance), use of SAP, Trackwise (used for documentation of non-conforming product), OTIS (for document updates), and Microsoft Office programs such as EXCEL, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Lead member of the daily Performance Team meeting. As a member of this team it is my duty to evaluate incoming data from the SPQC lab and present any non-conforming product at the Performance Team meeting. This is a cross-functional team that collaborates to determine what investigation is required and what is the appropriate path forward for the product. Due to Environmental Tracking life of the product the decisions must be made quickly and efficiently with Customer Quality being the top priority. Further duties involve designing additional tests for the laboratory and coordinating additional test scheduling with the Laboratory Lead.

• As the Lead Release Technician I am responsible for prioritizing the workload each day so that the Team is able to meet the daily goals for packaging output and shipping deadlines.

• Responsible for reviewing all documentation of product investigations (Slide Release Investigations) by other Team members as Quality over-site.

• Responsible for meeting one-on-one with Team members for any human errors found during review of completed paperwork. Significant errors are reviewed with the entire Team as a training opportunity for all members and the training event documented.

• Proficient in data mining and tabling data, editing and updating Work Instructions and SOP’s using OTIS, and writing and executing Test Scripts for validation projects.

• Job duties also involve implementation of CAPA plans for corrective and preventive action.

• A key member in such groups as: The Reference Slide Team, Mistake-proofing, and Continuous Improvement.

• Completed the Train the Trainer Course in 2006 and have provided training for 4 new members of SPQC Release.

• cGMP training annually as well as Blood Bourne Pathogen Training and proper use of PPE

Testing Technician, SPQC group (Ortho Clinical Diagnostics) 1995 – 1997

• Test composite cartridges of chemistry slides from manufacturing lots using 250, 750, and 950 Vitros analyzers.

• Calibration and QC of Vitros analyzers as well as some analyzer troubleshooting.

• Provided quality control of samples from Strep, Chlamydia and HCG Kits. (company closed in 1995)

Medical Laboratory Technician

• Worked primarily in the Core Lab. Job duties included Chemistry, Hematology and Urinalysis with some drug testing. Chemistry testing was performed using patient serum and analyzer results were reviewed and logged. Hematology duties involved running CBC’s on Coulters and performing slide differentials. Urinalysis duties included basic urinalysis testing, HCG testing and semen analysis. Drug testing was performed using the Cobas Fara.

• All results were reviewed and repeated if abnormal. Any results that repeated out of range were reviewed by the shift supervisor and then logged.

• Training as a Laboratory Technician also involved areas of Microbiology and Blood Bank.

• Trained in phlebotomy and performed early morning ward round duties to collect patient samples.

• Certified ASCP (1993) Medial Laboratory Technician
