DHL Supply Chain – Manager – for a large LLP contract in Southampton UK – Supply Chain Div.
• Managing key supply chain functions which include all freight lane routes to end markets
• Engagement of all carrier management activities.
• Ensuring most cost effective possibilities are engaged in the carrying out of all contracts.
• Instigated, formulated, engaged and put into operation large tender covering carriers throughout Europe (East and West) of some 51 carriers, together with freight negotiations, Tender commenced, saving client 16.7% of Euros 38 million road contract in financial year, over previous year. Movements include road, sea, air and rail shipments. This is primarily for high value security cargo – each truck value c.2.5m Euros.

• Short term consultancy role in establishing situation, root causes and rectification by re-implementation of whole supply chain for Sudan’s largest Mobile telephone operator (Zain).
• Role includes recommendations for change, obtaining approval and implementation of all matters relative, but not limited to packing, shipping from origin, receipt in Khartoum (air), receipt at warehouse and distribution to some 62000 outlets throughout Sudan.
• Realising costings, performance indicators and time spans required.
• Recommendation of warehouse changes and requirements therein.

Achievements – Brief
1) - Oct2007-Jan2008 – Workz
Recommended several economical and service improvements to current operations,
a) which included a new warehouse and
b) new transport nationwide distribution contracts.
c) extensive recommendation of some 85% of import cargo currently being moved by air to sea shipments.
d) all which - projected savings of around US$1.8 million per annum.
2) – Mar2006 – Sep2007 – Anglia Cargo
a) During management of Logistics Operations with Procter & Gamble, Chemicals Div., after completely changing the format of vehicle/load engagement, with new contracts and new SLA’s
b) and also by adding several additional truck operators to the system, (for practical and realistic reasons), was able through hard and tough negotiation,
c) make total potential savings of around Euros 4.5 million per annum.

a) Prepared many bids and tenders for often large contracts in terms of terminology and total costing.
4) – Jul2002 – Dec2003 – Raiba Trans Ltd
a) After setting up and commencing running the operation, I returned for a courtesy visit in October 2007 to the organisation, which pleasingly showed that all the systems and procedures originally installed for this operation were still in place and operating, although however, the fleet had increased from 200 trucks to 435 trucks.
5) – Jul1989 – Mar2002 – Transintra BV
a) Over the whole 12.5 years engagement, was able to increase year on year profits average by approximately 11.5% annually.
b) Obtained two lucrative shipping agency contracts, ultimately representing some 55%–60% of turnover.
c) Also added a lucrative contract for all imports/transportation/logistics of new oil drilling/well operations, which over a four year period translated into several hundred thousand US$ additional turnover and substantial profits.
d) Able to obtain the whole Logistics contract for an Italian organisation, who were totally refurbishing some 800 kms of road (From Port Sudan to Gedaref), which of course also additionally resulted in completion of the reverse logistics contract.
