My Role
Currently I belong to the QoS team. The responsibility of the QoS module is to program the network processor with QoS features such as classification/policing/shaping/marking, and ensure that the desired quality of service is achieved across the networks. My responsibilities as a member of the QoS team are:
Feature development, which includes discussion with marketing engineers, writing the functional specifications, design specifications, unit test plan and also unit testing of the feature.
Providing solution to customer queries, debug issues observed by customers and tracking of Customer Requests/bugs to closure.
Single point of contact for the QoS team, and also manage and provide technical guidance for the team members.
Bug fixing, analysis, code reviews, and feature reviews.

I have worked on the Cisco 10000 series edge router on the ATM component. The Cisco 10000 series router supports a larger scale of ATM VCIs/VPIs. The ATM module is responsible for configuring the VCI/VPIs and also to provide the ATM QoS features, across the E3/DS3/OC3/OC12 ATM line cards.

I was employed with Wipro technologies Ltd. from October 2005 to February 2008. I joined Wipro as a campus recruit and worked in the Broadband Networks domain for Nokia Siemens Networks.
Project Title: NSN D500 - Next Generation DSLAM
Project Description
The Nokia D500 is the DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) providing high-speed Internet access using DSL technology. D500 is a Highly Scaleable, Multi-Service Access Platform offering ATM with QoS and IP backbone services. It also provides Modular Remote Site Solutions. D500’s flexible architecture can operate with wide varieties of CPEs. The D500 implements ATM over xDSL architecture, thus extending benefits of gains of statistical multiplexing and protocol independence.

My Role
I belonged to the data path team which is concerned with the software that controls the path of the ATM cell within the DSLAM. The software is also responsible for reassembling the cells into a frame, depending on the interface used.
