Childcare of Springfield

Assisted the Director in all aspects of early education, filing, record keeping, paperwork updating as needed by each family enrolled, doing reports on individual children, looking at and reviewing IEP’s if necessary, supervising staff, doing evaluations on each staff person yearly, intakes and family enrollment process, computer input on all file folders on each child and family into the Pro Care system, any other early education jobs as requested by Director.

Responsible for running a very active and busy EEC center with 78 children and families. Ordering as needed, supervising 17 staff and evaluating yearly, input of files into ProCare system and intake families for enrollment and file all paperwork into files and update regularly as required., reviewed all files of children, checked allergies and conditions of all children and relayed important information to staff, Plan field trips, family events, staff meetings and workshops as well as on site trainings for all staff. CPR and First Aide trainings and staff file updating of required paperwork per EEC regulations, plan and implement curriculum, review lesson plans with staff, observe and document classroom environments at time of observations, discuss outcome with staff .met with parents regularly to discuss children’s progress, met with difficult parents/families to discuss concerns or issues about policies, children and staff issues, report 51-A to DSS if necessary NAEYC portfolio process, EEC licensing process. Attended weekly Directors meetings, attended trainings and workshops necessary to assist in fulfilling job requirements, spoke regularly with DSS social workers on children with family issues, interacted daily with Special Education Team (Metcalf) regarding children with special needs, worked side by side with transportation system who provides children with van services to and from school if in a DSS contracted slot, Had daily contact with outside agencies who provided some children with speech( HPS), autism spectrum services,(May Center) occupational therapy,( Heritage) counseling(River Valley Pysch), behavior therapy (Greg & Gladys)and other services as needed for specific children enrolled. Meet twice a week with HHC Nurse to plan trainings for children and staff , vision and dental screenings , physical and immunization checks etc, Schedule dental hygienist and dentist ( every 6 months) to do dental work at school on children’s teeth once permission slips were signed by parents, Attended team meeting for special needs children to update on progress, follow IEP’s if needed to provide continued services, all other requirements necessary for me to assist staff and provide families with the best possible care for their children. Daily interactions with legislatures, community, and parents as well as visitors and other outside agencies.
