Responsibilities included engine harness design in the machine applications group at the Lafayette Engine Center. Worked with engineering group to first design the schematic in Pro/DIAGRAM and then route the engine harness accordingly in Pro/CABLE. Responsible for splice optimization, breakout locations, shielding, and mounting considerations derived from the ProE shrinkwraps of the engine being routed. Also accountable for each component and its function in the harness such as the ECM, can data link, turbo outlet, etc. Created drawings driven by the 3D harness assembly and formboard assembly (flat stat) in the manufacturing harness mode within Pro/ENGINEER 2001 and Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire Release 1.0 and the Teamcenter Enterprise metadata manager, HVC, and EDS. Utilized the electric lines SDP (Structured Design Procedure) software to comply with CAT standards and assist in checking wire gauges to pins, sockets, and terminals. Also responsible for group drawings that accompany each harness drawing and working with shop technicians and factory personnel as a liaison to gain information and design insight to create a better end harness. Entire flat harness drawings created sent to supplier to be built as a prototype and then placed in production after a test engine run with the prototype harness, worked supplier to complete production harness.

Parts designed were castings, sheetmetal, injection molded, rotomolded, and thermoformed plastic parts and assemblies for body, engine, drivetrain, and articulated hydrostatic steering application. Assisted engineers and provided technical support in Pro/Program to move tractor and design around max articulation and oscillation of 9000 series wheel tractors. Assigned a DEC Alpha and gained responsibility for the PTC/Deere implemented Top-Down Design project for the 9000 4WD design team, this main assembly served as the design for base for the 9000T due commonality of the 9000 4WD and the 9000T. Also interfaced with cab interior group creating plastic parts in Pro/SURFACE and worked with industrial designers to make concepts producible in Pro/ENGINEER. Worked with lead hydraulics engineer to run lines in Pro/PIPING and contributed to design of the hydraulic system. Also responsible for working with suppliers and coordinating materials available in order to create plastic injection mold, rotational mold, thermoform, and sheet metal models and drawing used to create parts.
