Academic Project:

I) Title : AUTOMATIC DRILLING PROCESS USING PLC.

Role : Team Member

Description : In pneumatic process, air is used as the working fluid. The air is taken from atmosphere and is compressed. The compressed air is taken through pneumatic circuits, which is controlled by a programmable logical controller, PLC. PLC is a micro-controller.

In this project, we constructed a pneumatic circuit which is controlled by PLC micro-controller. This helps in continuous production process without any interruption.

Location : CITD, Hyderabad.

II) Title : FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS OF A GAS TURBINE

Role : Team Member

Description : Gas turbine is a machine, which is used to convert wind energy to electrical energy. It mainly consists of three parts. They are Compression chamber, Combustion chamber and Turbine part.

The atmospheric air is taken in and is compressed to high pressures. This pressurized is again taken to compression chamber; here the pressurized air is burnt to high temperatures in presence of oxygen and working fluid. Through nozzles this burnt air is impinged on the turbine blades in turbine part.

In this project, a gas turbine is constructed and is tested at various working conditions like change in temperature, change in pressure, change in working fluid and change in work load.

Tools : In project, we used special GT software developed by GE, USA to analyze the performance of the gas turbine under various conditions.

Location : BHEL, Hyderabad.
