Assisting doctor with Liver biopsy and administering sedation for procedure.

Gastrointestinal Specialization

Pre-op: obtain patient’s health history, start intravenous line, check blood sugar, administer IV antibiotics

Surgical: Assist doctor in doing biopsies, removing polyps, hemorrhoid banding, clamping, sclero tattooing, polyp injections

Recovery: Administer fluids and post medications, monitor vital signs, temperature, blood, sugar, removing IV, discharge instructions.

Administer conscious sedation to patients which includes Fentanyl, Demerol, and Versed.

Monitor patients using three lead EKG, blood pressure cuff, supplemental oxygen, monitoring respirations, breathing.

Assist physicians with liver biopsies: administer medications, monitor patient

Monitoring of crash cart daily

Responsible for all drug expirations for entire center

Responsible for ordering of stock and medications

Trained in assisting with liver biopsy’s.

Competent in Bravo Capsule Endoscopy set up and procedure.

Responsible for monitoring machine chemicals and keeping them up-to-date

Schedule patient appointments with other medical facilities if needed
