Job Description

Senior Category/Commodity Manager: Provide periodic reviews of spend reports, savings reports, and industry analysis. Following these reviews identifying and communicating new savings and improvement opportunities to the client through the designated governance team for prioritization and scheduling. Once receiving the client’s approval to proceed, such person will work with the suppliers and/or the client to carry out sourcing or change programs to achieve the target savings or improvements. This may include communications programs with the suppliers and/or the client’s employees, direct conversations with suppliers regarding proper billing, or joint client and Company’s teams focused on motivating the client’s employees to use preferred suppliers or contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Refine current sourcing strategy and recommend suggestions for improvement.

• Define sourcing (buying) and contracting process, recommend to and obtain approval from the Accenture client.

• Formulate procurement and category-specific policies and lead implementation.

• Develop supplier evaluation and selection criteria, in general, and for each spend category as part of agreed procurement strategy.

• Identify and evaluate incumbent and potential suppliers, applying established evaluation and selection criteria.

• Conduct activities as necessary (including managing the process of obtaining approved nondisclosure agreements), to build short-list of potential suppliers.

• Define and manage contractual and supplier relationships in collaboration with the client.

• Design and implement contract management and communications, including metrics and processes for due diligence of supplier capabilities, market and financial position.

• Design supplier and user compliance management program, recommend policies and procedures as well as implementation and performance tracking program.

• Define accountabilities for compliance tracking, analysis, and reporting, and client participation.

• Build and manage baseline (spend, requisition/PO process, supplier/user behavior and procurement practices) data, using external expertise as needed for due diligence.

• Perform category management for all categories in the final Aircraft Plan that have been sourced in leading the sourcing effort.

• Assist the Global Category Leads to develop and execute category strategy.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: Minimum 15 years of operational and strategic experience delivering Professional Services category specific sourcing/buying service, strategic sourcing, supplier/category management and compliance management, across North America, EU and Asia.

• Potential people management – in this role c have direct line reports which they will be required to lead and manage. In absence of direct reports, will in any event act as an advisor to peers and offer the ability to leverage their knowledge across as may be required.

1. Reporting to the Manager of Global Commodity Management for direct materials within Global Sourcing organization, Develop & execute complex sourcing strategies for inventoried direct materials.

Partner with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, and Technical leaders to identify supply chain opportunities in these commodity areas. Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders within the corporate and divisional levels and executing sourcing strategies to drive value and significantly impact bottom-line profitability. Ability to demonstrate through concrete examples, strong experience sourcing and managing one or more of the following categories at a global level.

When performing assessment for Supplier Quality; is generally done by maintaining smooth operations at a materials supplier. Usually adapting, identifying and solving problems and applying solid communication and managerial skills. As Supplier Quality, responsible for investigating, analyzing and correcting problems in quality, production and control at a supplier location. Also performing audits and implement new strategies.

Acting as a supplier quality engineer (SQE) focus on supplier development in a manufacturing or service process. Working with suppliers to continuously improve performance, implement process controls and develop quality assurance plans. Must be critical thinkers and active listener with good time management skills in order to work with suppliers and project management teams to define deliverables-goods and services ready for consumer delivery.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business and Materials Management field.
