A $200+MM Industrial Hose Manufacturer and Distributor of Metal Fittings, and Packaging. Fluid Conveyance industry supplying to NAPA, Caterpillar, US Air Force etc.

Controller

Full spectrum of the Controller’s function including, general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, taxes, reporting.

• Created standard daily/monthly reporting package for executives with key manufacturing and financial metrics. Forecasting accuracy improved from 70% to 99.2%.

• Designed and implemented division-wide product line financial statements, department heads were made responsible to meet financial targets.

• Restructured the products return department by creating a database that captures data from the ERP system and relays that info to customer service as soon as the products are scanned at the receiving dock from our clients. We reduced headcount by 10 staffers which brought savings of $300k per year.

• Revamped and cut wasteful processes by using our data warehouse info efficiently to create entries and produce reports in the finance dept where we reduced headcount by 2 staffers, $80k in savings.

• Eliminated medium gaps identified by E&Y, previous audit had 7 medium gaps. YE close at 2008 we had zero gaps.

• Reduced inventory $4M by having the required products based on forecast, revamped safety stock levels.

FEDERAL SIGNAL CORPORATION, FRG GROUP - Ocala, Florida Jul 2006 – Feb 2008

A $400+MM Fire and Emergency Vehicle Manufacturer of E-One products. E-One fire trucks are sold all over the world to refineries, local fire departments, Airports and US Homeland Security department.

FP&A and Cost Accounting Manager (5 plants)

Majority of the time was devoted to implementation of a new IT system, planning, testing. Special projects included assisting in due diligence of a tank manufacturer associated with Federal Signal acquisition of West Star in 2007.

• Revamped SOX documentation and controls, reducing work effort and improved audit results

• Revamped Finance department organizational structure improving efficiency, quality, and quantity of information. Reduced headcount by 4 staffer’s savings of $160k.

• Eliminated annual Physical Inventory with improvements to cycle count accuracy by improving accuracy and timeliness of transactions along with root cause analysis to BOM. Physical inventory exemption brought savings of $400k.

• Assisted as co-champion implementing a product lifecycle management system (PLM), cost overruns was $500k per quarter was eliminated.

• Was project lead on a warehouse consolidation project, went from 5 warehouses to 1. Resulted in savings of 90 HC $2.5M in labour savings.

• Created daily high level review council meeting to discuss negative trending projects. We reviewed labor, material costs, supply chain issues, inspection delays through a daily updated forecast model.
