Dear Madam or Sir:

I write to express my interest in being the personal assistant for your music group . I offer my services as an administrator with over seven years of experience successfully managing multiple federal and state grants. My previous professional experiences have included a wide range of responsibilities making me a competent manager with a varied skill set who is able to work synergistically with others as a team member or leader in order to meet organizational strategic planning goals, regulatory obligations and program objectives.

In my previous position as the Federal Programs Coordinator of Girard College, I functioned as the principal administrator of all state and federal programs including ESEA Title I, Part A and Title I, Part D, the National School Lunch Program, the federal 21st Century Community Learning Center program and Pennsylvania's Act 195/90. Acting as the financial steward of Girard's public funds, I have shouldered responsibility for a department with accompanying annual budgets that have ranged between $1.2 and $2.4 million dollars of federal funding earmarked to supplement the academic services and instructional resources provided to students.

Charged with managing all aspects of Girard's public programs, my responsibilities included ensuring proper execution of program objectives, designing program processes and standard operating procedures, and analyzing data to develop program evaluation materials and assessments. As the sole administrator of all government programs, I have been responsible for establishing and maintaining budgets, supervising staff, conducting program reviews, coordinating internal and external evaluations, purchasing technology, software and professional services, and facilitating organizational responses to all federal and state monitoring visits and audits, including the annual federal A-133 audit. Completing these tasks demanded project management at the highest levels, including the maintenance of meticulous business records, the precise inventory of all program materials and purchases, and the timely and accurate response to all data reporting requirements.

Astute communication and problem solving skills have proven pivotal to my success as a program administrator. Indicative of my approach to project management is to begin by relying heavily on productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Excel and Access, which I also used to maintain budgets, manage invoices, and record all acquisitions and depreciations. These tools and other productivity software assisted me with establishing ongoing collaboration with colleagues and key stakeholders throughout the College, including union representatives, faculty, staff, students and parents. The ultimate goal of such interactions was to fulfill my department's assignment to implement appropriate activities consistent with the College's academic mission, supported by evidence of need or efficacy and that were attendant to the objectives of various funding sources.

Taking note of other potential job responsibilities and qualifications that might be required, know that I have demonstrable organizational, communication, technical and social skills that I can use to provide excellent service to an organization or organization's clients or customers. I believe my relationships with those for whom I provide services are positive and fruitful because I do not hesitate to demonstrate to my colleagues that I am an honest, down to earth, and intellectually curious person; I seek to understand and improve systems, develop relationships with diverse groups of people, and facilitate collaboration and a cooperative spirit, all in an effort to establish myself as a useful team member.

My previous experience in the legal profession and work in the world of education have distilled in me a professional pragmatism that I believe is one of my strongest attributes. I know from experience in many settings that no task is too insignificant to expose it to the risk of inattention. Further, I am a person who understands that "getting it done" often requires both mental and physical hard work. I have done both for Girard for the last several years and would appreciate the ability to do so for another organization in need of thoughtful contributors.

Attached is my resume detailing additional accomplishments that I hope you will consider seriously. I ask that you please consider me for any suitable positions with job responsibilities that require a candidate with my skills and experiences.

Yours truly,

Cathryn N. Myers
