December 2004 - May 2009: Pashto Cell Director and Senior Translator/Interpreter – Headquarters International Security Assistance Force (HQ ISAF) Kabul, Afghanistan.
Responsibilities:
• Translator: Revision of cross-checked documents, taking minutes of daily operation meetings and briefings; reviewer of manuals, guidelines, contingency/ regular plans and training materials; translation of documents for high profiled meetings and government releasable correspondences, news releases, media advisories - compiled glossary of newly translated military-related vocabulary.
• Interpreter: Provided simultaneous, consecutive and whispering interpretation for various level meetings - national, regional and international agendas in Afghanistan; provided interpretation for media events, trainings and joint conferences with attending spokespersons and high ranking generals/officials. Accompanied high profiled delegates on travel to numerous provinces.
From 2007 – 2009 as Pashto instructor at HQ ISAF (Part-time). During this period of time I have taught basic Pashto and Dari. At the end of each 3 month course the officers were able to write, read and understand the mission critical language in Pashto and Dari.
• Translation of articles from Qanoon-e Assasi Magazine, interviewed well-known personalities, translated news/press releases, organized press conferences; translated draft articles for constitutions and history of Jirga over the history of Afghanistan.
