Administrative Assistant, Cuming County Economic Development, 2011-present
In this part-time position, I have designed from scratch a community information flyer and a countywide newsletter. Currently I am working on creating a brand stationery line for the office, a monthly newsletter, and a database for a publication. I make phone calls, answer the phone, type letters, prepare mailings and more.
Owner/photographer, Jaco Creations, 2007-present
I grew this sports photography business from concept to revenue. I work with area high school coaches, athletes and parents to take photographs, both posed and action, of the athletes. In 2009, I began designing professional materials for businesses, including taking on-site photographs, annual newsletters, postcards, business cards, flyers and brochures. Logo creation is another service that I added.
• Create trade show booth for the Cuming County fair each year.
• I create posters, prints, scrapbook pages and more based on the photographs I take.
• I take information from concept to creation, show the customer for input, then complete the marketing project, whether it is a newsletter, postcard, business card, flyer or brochure.
• I make all the personal contacts, create the printed marketing materials, as well as do all the production for the business.
Operation Great Start Coordinator, Goldenrod Hills Community Action, 2007-2008
This was a grant-based position and I was the initial coordinator who developed this program from scratch. Operation Great Start is a home visitation program that helps with any concerns with parenting and provides information on community resources.
• I worked with a committee of health professionals to develop the program. Researching, requesting and collecting educational materials that were to be shared was part of the job.
• Marketing to healthcare professionals, including obstetricians and pediatricians, and women was also my responsibility.
Executive Director, West Point Chamber of Commerce, 1999-2006
When I began at the Chamber, it was a social-business club, which with the support of the board of directors and the membership, I transformed into a professional organization to grow and promote member businesses and the West Point area. I:
• Created trade show booth for the Cuming County fair each year.
• Spoke on a weekly radio spotlight, submitted to the local newspaper and writing a monthly letter were used to promote activities happening in a timely fashion.
• Planned annual July 4th celebration, organizing 100+ volunteers with activities
