Deliverables

o Primarily Supervising the unit to provide quality refractive care and service to visiting patients
o Clinical patients with ocular infections and various impairments including prescription of eye glasses, cosmetic and corrective contact lenses,
ocular drugs wherever deemed necessary, else simple advice on eye care, safety and visual hygiene
o Escalations/ referrals of patients to Ophthalmologists or other health care practitioners if additional medical treatment is determined necessary
o Approving and administering advanced eye care technology like Fundus Photography and Optical Refractive examination using automated Phoropter
o Identifying and removal of Corneal Foreign Body, either superficial or embedded, as a part of Emergency care
o Assessing General eye health, confirming optical properties and accurate refractions through a battery of eye examinations & testing
o Refering systemic disorders including neural complications, malignancies and ocular defects
o Preparing and subjecting patients for testing near and far acuity, depth perception, macula integrity, colour perception and visual field, utilizing ocular testing apparatus
o Judiciously prescribing ocular drugs if necessary, eyeglasses, cosmetic and therapeutic contacts to help treat vision problems; caring for patients before and after surgeries such as laser vision correction and cataract removal
o Administering primary vision care (children / adults), pre & post Laser Correction of diagnosed diseases of the eye with Digital Optical / Ocular Test Equipments
o Maintaining inventory of materials, equipments and administering quality initiatives in the department for Primary eye care
o Prescribing drugs, eyeglasses and contact lenses to help treat vision problems
o Nursing for patients before and after surgeries such as laser vision correction and cataract removal
o Conducting research for latest technology and pretesting techniques and planning different options for better inital refraction data gathering
o Organising Eye care campaigns in and Out of the worr place setting/ Mobile testing programs for the community Eye health
o Mentoring junior practitioners to provide service with accuracy, care and compassion
