At Delphi Automotive, I performed duties pertaining to Supervisor Receiving Inspection,
Quality Control Supervisor, Senior Buyer-Purchasing, Senior Supplier Quality Engineer.
• As SQE, I worked with stamping suppliers to reduce restrikes and scuff marks in parts
that were internal to the R-4 compressor. PPM<10.
• Fastener supplier was fixture heat treating compressor thru bolts and causing warping. Worked with the supplier to develop micro alloy that could be manufactured on national long stroke bolt maker and were straight and did not require heat treatment. Reduced PPM to <5 and reduced cost per 1000 by 42%.
• Worked with fine blanking supplier to develop double disc grinding on valve plates for compressors such that we assembled reeds, retainers and installed in compressor. This process change eliminated the internal grinding operation.
• Worked with corporate buyers to commonize part numbers on some fasteners to take advantage of corporate volume resulting in a large cost reduction.
