Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
FUNDRAISING & DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR (2007 - Current)
As a member of the Toronto Chapter events team, develop and execute the operation of event fundraising programs; specifically the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes, Ride for Diabetes Research and the Promise Ball Gala; duties include:
• Assist chapter staff in the development and implementation of various fundraising projects including volunteer and event coordination, and the major gifts/planned giving programs (event logistics, correspondence support, telephone correspondences, etc.).
• Work with managers and logistic company to ensure site inspection and layout suited for events.
• Pre-Event, Event Day and Post Event administration ( e.g. invitations, manage RSVP for event, nametags, kit/materials preparation, registration coordination, thank you certificates, thank you letters with receipts, etc.)
• Create PowerPoint presentations for conferences and meetings keeping with the mission, values and goals of the organization.
• Finance responsible includes: manage event budget, submit payment request, cheque requisition and petty cash.
• Build and maintain event volunteer relationships.
• Secure in-kind sponsorship for event
• Responsible for meetings and catering setup.
• Create program e-bulletins that are distributed to donors and event participants.
• Update the website regularly with volunteer opportunities.
• Manage in-memoriam and in-honor donation program.
• Coordinate internal office fundraising events.
• Maintains a high level of customer service to all donors, volunteers and supporters; operating within the philosophy, culture and values of the foundation.
