SAFETY / SECURITY OFFICER / MANAGER

Worked with ALFA Fire & Safety Services as a safety officer, based in ALBA, for M/S A.A.NASS and FIVES CAIL BABCOCK (FCB). After completion of a training programme in Fire & Safety with ALFA Fire Services, on A.A.NASS project for ALBA expansion project No 370-CN-10, plotline 4, ANODE BAKED CONCRETE & PASTE PLANT expansion project under international company M/s Bechtel Lavalin’s Consultancy.

Prepared and proposed a construction fire/safety /security programme to Bechtel for A.A.Nass. The proposed programme being accepted and approved by Bechtel Lavalin’s London office. Proficiency being achieved in this field as well. Worked on this project for a period of six months up to completion, 1990.

DUTIES INVOLVED

Inspects machinery, equipment and working conditions to ensure conformance to fire, safety standards according to Alba’s and Bechtel Lavalin’s job site safety rules and regulations. Examines equipment specifications and inspect and test equipment such as hoisting devices, machine shields, ladders, scaffolding, materials handling equipment and storage facilities, safety devices and clothing to ensure conformance to safety standards and serviceability, observes workers to ensure protective devices such as gas or dust mask, and safety glasses or shoes, are being utilized according to ALBA/Bechtel’s rules and regulations, and that combustible or hazardous material are used and stored according to approved procedure. Conduct tests in work areas to detect toxic fumes, explosive gas-air mixtures or other work hazards, using test instruments, examine new and recondition equipment to ensure conformance to safety standards. Ensures fire prevention materials and other safety supplies, such as first aid kits etc in order and in stock. Investigates accidents and unsafe working conditions, study causes and recommends remedial actions. Assist in conducting safety meetings and campaigns or contests, report unsanitary conditions and careless action of workers to ALBA/Bechtel’s Project Manager, for a period of six months only in 1990.

Worked with M/s ABB FLAKT, A Norwegian Company specialized in aluminum industries on their project for ALBA Plotline 4 Project Expansion No

20406-330-CN-10 FUME TREATMENT PLANT as a safety officer. Recommended by Bechtel Lavalin for demonstrating, implementing, and achieving the required capabilities, results, goals, on the previous projects of A.A.NASS, FIVES CAIL BABCOCK(FCB), NASSHEUER LOI .

DUTIES INVOLVED

To implement Alba’s and Bechtel Lavalin’s job site safety rules and regulations, reporting of safety standards on sites to Bechtel/Alba ‘s projects managers, conduct safety meetings with supervisors and crew on sites, to attend Bechtel/Alba’s co-ordination weekly meetings, to report safety standards recommendations, any accidents and corrective actions, daily inspections and instructions to supervisors on site safety, to attain Bechtel’s co-ordination meetings and reporting of any accidents, injuries etc, first aid treatment , fire safety procedures and training of personnel on site, construction safety porgrammes , implementation on civil, steel erections work, electrical works etc auditing and statistic on Man hours .

Worked with ABB FLAKT for a period of one year and eight months till May 1990 to 1992.

Started own business in freight forwarding by the name of Hurran Cargo Services in partnership with Sheikh Saud bin ali al khalifa for a period of two years from 1992 to 1994.

COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Worked with M/s Manama Textile Mills in Bahrain in the position of

Commercial Manager, for a period of 2 years from 1994 to 1996, Manama Textile Mills manufacture of grey clothes and export it to U.S.A. CANADA, EROUPE, UK, looking after exports of Air / Sea shipments, preparation of documents according to L/C verification of bills, suppliers, forwarders invoices, worked with Manama Textile Mills for period of two years From 1994 to 1996.

Worked with M/s AL-AMIN CONTRACTING AND MAINTENANCE W.L.L based in ALBA, for KOOHEJI CONTRACTING COMPANY in the position of SAFETY OFFICER from June 1999 to April 2001 for ten months period at Plotline 1 Rectifier Roof Slab Replacement on live Bus Bars recommended by ALBA for demonstrating, Implementing and achieving the required capabilities, results, goals, on the previous projects of A.A.NASS, FIVES CAIL BABCOCK (FCB), NASSHEUER LOI, and ABB FLAKT.
