Career Objective
By applying for this job I am hoping to be able to work at your business this summer as well as continuing on a reduced schedule during the school year. I am hoping to hold a position at this business for a while as I am not known to quit things easily. In spite of my young age (16) and lack of professional experience, I have a lot of experience in hosting and people skills through volunteer work. I have been a sever and a dishwasher at many charity events and gatherings at St. Joachim School in Hayward as well as being a Dragon Ambassador at Bishop O’Dowd High School. And have completed more than 50 hours of community service. I am a very hard worker and believe that when you start something it is better to put your all into it or not do it at all.
Skills and Abilities
Serving Skills
I am very good at multitasking and have been a server at many charity events. I understand that the customers’ needs come first and believe that every customer should be treated with respect and courteously as that is what completes the dining experience. I am also able to do dishwashing and hosting.
Retail Skills
I am very good with mathematics as I am in honors math classes at my school. I believe that miscounting is unacceptable and is too common of a mistake. As money is what keeps the business running, it should be handled as such and is a great responsibility.
Education and Training
2007- Present: Attending Bishop O’dowd High School, a catholic High School in Oakland. I am on High Honors and have a GPA of 3.57.
Work Experience
I have a lot of volunteer work experience. This year completed 25 hours at Reach Academy in Oakland and last year I completed 15 hours at a retirement home in San Leandro. I am also a Dragon Ambassador at Bishop O’Dowd High School and participate in things such as benefit dinners, orientations, and parent gatherings as hosts and tour guides. In middle school I participated in an auction event at St. Joachim School where I was a server.
Interests
I have been on the basketball team at Bishop O’Dowd High School for 2 years and also participate in many clubs such as Sisters of Success and Dragon Ambassadors. After High School, I hope to go to college and major in pre medicine. I have dreams of becoming a doctor.
