PROFESSIONAL ASSIGNMENTS

1) Glass America/Performance Glass (2001-Present)

Was hired to implement a commercial division of an established residential glazing company. Glass America/Performance Glass was a sister company of MTH Industries based in Chicago and is one of the nation’s largest commercial glazing firms. Took company from zero commercial glazing sales dollars in 2001 to sales in excess of $10 million by 2008. Diversified company sales approach in 2007 to supplement sales by performing large scale multiple unit glazing restoration projects. Restoration projects included multi-story residential as well as medium to large scale commercial projects.

Responsibilities included overall management of daily operations, with four department managers reporting directly for me. Personally handled all large project estimating and sales, as well as reviewing all material ordering and project strategies with office and field personnel for the said projects.

Oversaw the development, engineering, testing and building code compliance of large missile impact resistant storefront/window wall system. System is currently listed on Miami Dade County’s (#08-0219.01) and State of Florida’s (#FL6254) approved product listing.

Worked with building envelope consulting firms in a second and third party circumstance reviewing testing parameters, on-site testing and reviewing test reports. Tests were performed on large scale multi-unit residential and large scale commercial projects.

2) Crawford Tracey Corporation (1993-2001)

Hired to troubleshoot new accounting software in 1993. Project developed into a mid-management position overseeing daily general and project accounting. Responsible for preparation of all project budgets from fabrication to installation and reviewing budgets with projects managers to help maximize project profitability.

Reviewed all estimates, quotes and proposals being submitted to customers. Reviewed and executed all contracts, conducted weekly and monthly reviews with department managers to verify that projects from fabrication to installation were on time and within budget. Prepared monthly and annual financials and acted as liaison to CPA’s for preparation of tax returns and related reports.

Promoted to General Manager in 1997 where I implemented several control programs including costs control parameters affecting both direct job cost as well as overhead expenses. Conducted weekly sales, budget and scheduling meetings with estimators and projects managers. Developed and implemented a safety program and drug-free workplace for the fabrication and installation departments.

Worked with Surety agents to maintain the highest capacities possible and control bonding rates on large scale commercial projects.
