Represented ARSI, American Express FSB, American Express Travel Related Services Company, Allied Insurance, Farmers Insurance Group, Hartford Insurance and other firms in breach of contract cases. Provided Fair Debt Collection Practices Act compliance and Fair Credit Reporting Act supervision to worksite staff. Analyzed legal issues, researched, and developed a plan for resolution in business-to-business defaulted debts. Drafted complaints, motions and pleadings. Conducted discovery as well as negotiated and implemented settlement agreements. Worked closely with the Clark County District Attorneys to prosecute or defend the County regarding Department of Family Services Foster Care matters. Supervised and developed protocol, policies and procedures for the following units: Placement, Caregiver Services, Recruitment, Foster Care Licensing and Training. Researched laws, cases, and relevant solutions and provided the County with legal assessments of issues involving individual liberties, privacy, records retention, due process, and other matters related to child welfare systems.. Participated in the reporting groups for Medicaid Disability applications, Fatalities, System wide Policy and Procedures development, Mental Health Treatment Reviews, and the Foster Care Disaster Plan. Provided guidance concerning interpretation of child welfare state and federal laws. Worked with child protection, law enforcement and the courts to coordinate child welfare services for children and families. Implemented new programs and prototypes in alignment with best practices. Prepared case files for hearings, administrative reviews on revocation, denials and suspensions of licenses. Assisted tribal prosecutor in preparing all legal briefs and pleadings provided support with evidence gathering and worked collaboratively with both tribal and Federal law enforcement in the investigatory process of criminal indictments pending court proceedings. Worked with the prosecutor in drafting revisions the Pyramid Lake Criminal Procedures Code that had not been revised since 1975. Supervised and managed staff and Social Service Programs including budget, expenditures, reporting, and court proceedings in reference to social service matters such as guardianships, adoptions, child abuse, domestic violence, lack of supervision, and drug and alcohol abuse. Provided legal representation by researching child protection, family law, adoption, and juvenile’s delinquency law and drafted motions, pleadings, and memorandums. Assisted prosecutor in preparing motions and gathering information and evidence for cases involving tribal prosecutions involving juvenile offenders, domestic violence, and child neglect, elder abuse, driving under the influence, possession of controlled substances, assault, battery and theft. Managed all aspects of the child welfare foster care placement, payments and reunification plans. Filed monthly and quarterly reports with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and Department of the Interior regarding funding, expenditures and outcomes.
