Professional & Research Experience

Anaren Microwave Inc. Internship Part-time (01/2011 - 05/2011) – Test Engineer

• Matched impedances of microwave ICs with VNA

• Tuned baluns with lumped circuit components using Smith Chart

• Performed output power, sensitivity, harmonics, RSSI and temperature tests on RF transceivers

• Conducted range test on short range, low power RF transceivers

• Assisted in failure analysis, statistical classification of failures, data collection and organization

Anaren Microwave Inc. Internship Full-time (06/2011 - 09/2011) – Software Engineer

• Established communication between the Spectrum Analyzer and computer via GPIB

• Designed algorithm to automate FCC and European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) tests

• Programed Agilent EXA Signal Analyzer and Agilent ESA-E Series Spectrum Analyzer using VISA application programming interface

• Created programs to export data, organize data, and generate test reports in Excel automatically

Senior Year Design – Smart Power System for Large Stadium (model)

• Designed and built turnstile generator which generated 3W – 5W power

• Designed power meters which measured power flows flowing in two directions

• Integrated a power system which consisted of a generator, a backup power supply, batteries, multiple power meters, multiple DC-DC converters and utilities, using analog circuit components in the lab

• Wrote algorithms that monitored, controlled and managed power flow in the system

• Programmed microcontroller to orchestrate the system

RF/microwave Projects

• Microstrip Matching Circuitry

- Matched a 10 ohm load to a 50 ohm load using Binomial method

- Required a maximum return loss of -20dB across entire S band, 2 - 4 GHz

- Ran EM simulation using Ansoft HFSS and Sonnet 2D EM simulator

- Fabricated design with microstrip line and verified the performance using VNA

• Branch-line Directional Coupler

- Required a coupling factor of 3dB and directivity of more than 30dB

- Operated at a center frequency of 3GHz with 10% bandwidth

- Decomposed coupler and apply even/odd mode analyses

- Fabricated design with microstrip line and verified the performance using VNA

Comb-line Filter Research (06/2010 – 07/2010)

• Designed 2D models using Sonnet EM Simulator and 3D structures using Ansoft HFSS
