Usage Processing System is a message processing system. It processes switch generated usage data, rates, applies taxes, and applies surcharges to the invoice. It then passes this information to the Billing System after preparing the invoice for billing. UPS processes records for Southwest as well as West Customers who have availed the vertical services.UPS allows for introduction of new services and products via table driven relational technology. UPS West serves as an interface between UPS Southwest Billing System and UPS West Billing System. It processes the messages for both the southwest and the west region customers. PAR posts and rates the messages of all the customers.
UPS West has three applications:
• UPS Customer West
• UPS West Totaling and Formatting
• UPS West Interfaces
UPS Customer West is responsible for providing information of the West to the Midwest. It does Daily Service Processing i.e. it processes those service orders for the accounts that are processed by UPS on a daily basis.
UPS West Totaling and Formatting reads in records from the Mid West’s Bill Day Repository and creates IIR files that are used to format the bill in the legacy system. It processes records for the West customers. The records received by this application are rated customer usage records. It is responsible for applying Pre-credit to the usage records and summarizes usage based on the services. It also processing Concessions for different packages and applies allowances for usage of different customers.
UPS system was designed such that the data for the west and the southwest customers
can be processed at a single place and by a single system namely UPS.

Project Descriptions:
The project is Testing of AT&T’s Wholesale Ordering System, which is designed to accept requests from Competitive Local Exchange Carriers for Unbundled Network Elements (UNEs) and Resale Services and then manage the information required to fulfill those requests. LASR is the central most system and is based on the Ordering and Billing Forum (OBF), Local Service Ordering Guideline (LSOG), and Local Service Ordering Requirements (LSOR). LASR is part of ATT’s Operational Support Systems (OSS). Through a graphical user interface (GUI), Local Service Centers can view and manage the requests that flow through LASR.
Web LSR Exchange (LEX) system is an online system used by the CLECs to create and submit LSRs to LASR. It works together with other components to distribute service requests to the necessary business units, coordinates installation and provisioning of activities and provides tracking throughout the service order process. All the information from the existing paper LSR is displayed over several on screen data entry areas, which are referred to as forms and sections.
Tech Mahindra is responsible for the Tri Annual & Minor Releases which are scheduled periodically and we are responsible for delivering Wholesale Integration Testing and Regression Testing. New functionality and changes to existing functionality are being fixed, tested and then implemented into production during Tri-Annual releases. The production defects are fixed, tested and then implemented during maintenance release. Typically, a maintenance release happens once in a month.

Project Description
Service Center is a Tool developed by Peregrine (Overtaken by HP) based on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Framework. This is currently used by AT&T for Incident Reporting and MAC Request i.e. (Move add and change) for GM, FORD and other clients developed and enhanced by S.B.C. It has two interface WEB and Peregrine (Service Center). Both are used to process the IM and MAC Tickets and provide services to meet the SLA (Service Level Agreement). Tickets can be generated either by web interface or by service center. Both the databases are updated on the timely bases to be in sync.
